ha that was sorta just a joke. i dont have much time tho. so this week passed by well. we are happy and life is good. we got some good work going but me and elder decided last night that we are really gonna step it up this week. we are going to work super hard and tract even when we dont want to and just do it. ha it will be a good week.

ok well last week i was working with another elder in his area. as we were teaching i really was impressed that missionary work is really progressing well throughout the whole world. sometimes we as missionaries are like, "well my work is slow in my area and we dont got much investigators" but we all just need to realize that there are mthousands of areas and missionaries. thats sorta what i realize4d this week. even just in the san pablo zone in the san pablo mission the work is going well. than we need to remember that there are 9 other zones just in this mission. then that there are another 16 whole missions with 10 more zones in each just in the philippine3s. then we need to realize that there are proly about 330 more missions outside of the philippines. and than we need to remember that in everysingle mission, every single zone, and everysingle individual area, God is in charge! is awesome anjd true that "no unhallowed hand can stop the work from progressing." we just all got to do our personal part to help out and make it progress faster!

ok well thats just a little something from my week. ok well mom about those weird insidences i dont know but i wouldnt believe the stuff the government says! ha. and about my perscription. i think they should have it but if not just tell me and i will email it to you. ok well i should get going. we took time out of our afternoon earlier to help a sister missionary in our zone learn tagalog so we are a bit short o0n time. hope all is ok and goes better this week. love elder brock perry

well another awesome week as a servent of the lord has past. ha man its a ride. we are having fun. me and elder leblanc have decided to step it up this week. so we are excited to put our hearts a bit more into the work. the zone is doing weel. we are excited to see that sister batn is now in the zone. also i went on an exchange with elder davis last week. and they are doing very well in their area. i have been impressed to notice lately as i have been going on exchanges that missionary work really is progressing well in each earea and it has just reminded me that God really is in charge and that "no unhallowed hand can stop the work fromn progressing". i am learning lots currently with my study in "jesus the christ" and i cant seem to learn as fast as i would like, ha. i just want to know it all. also i am trying to learn sign language so i can better comunicate to our deaf invgestigators. ok weel its going well here in sanpablo. thanks pres.

hello.

hey well cody i cant wait to see... so i can punch you! you know why i am saying that. you best straighten up. oh and mom dont think too much of me, i am not that great. just any ordinary missionary. well thanks for the emails ma and pa.

this week was quite enjoyable. i am really as happy as can be most of the time right now. its good. i am uberly busy the right now, but its ok as long as i am in the service4 of others. its good. we have a but load of investigators right now, at least more than i am used too coming from some weaker areas in the past. its fun. well we were able to teach that one guy i told you abouyt last week. his name is rick. the one that i tracted last septemb er when i worked in this area. his son is real cool and it was real good to talk to him again and he could actually remember me and all and he seems real open to the message but he is just way busy always. i really am praying i can see him in those baptismal waters before i leave this area. that would be awesome! oh and it turns out he doesnt hhave long hair anymore. also last saturday when we were on our way to an appointment we passed a house and i saw this guy smoking in the doorway and then we kept walking and then i told elder leblanc that i felt we should go back i so we did, and it turns out it was a younger couple, and they are way super nice. me and leblanc have now taught them twice and we both feel that they could be baptized. we just got to pray! they are the navarro family. i decided that i want to see those two and thye rick guy baptized before i9 leave! that would be cool!also as of now i am learning ASL (american sign language). my comp learned it in the feild and we have a few deaf investigators so i am now trying to learn that even tho i dont have time, ha. i8ts so cool tho and i really want to learn it. we also hold a asl class at the church twice a week and my comp teaches us. i love these4 deaf investigators we have and i have i big desire to learn this to help them and help others in the future. its way fun. i really need the gift of tongues(or hands, ha) in order to learn this. actually i think cody is studying it in school. i bet i am already better than him, ha jk. not really. cody you better get good so we can use it together when i get back. ha. well i am enjoying being a zoneleader as of now because i get to know the other zone mates better and help them out. (oh and my comp elder leblanc said he has a crush on chantell, ha, ha he just wispered in my ear. oh and he said jk, but i dont believe him!). for example there is a brand new sister here in the mission from india named sister methangi and she want able to go to the provo mtc so she absoluytly know litt6le tagalog, so me and elder are really trying to make her happy n\and help her out. i gave here alot of my old tagalog books i got from the mtc and dictionarty and stuff and it n\made her happy and we also are having a little classx with her every thursday where me and my comp go and teach her some tagalog. i really just like to make other peaple happy, i love it! ha. also i now have to work in other areas once a week while me and my comps go on splits and i have to go in the other area so i learn where it is and stuff which is fun to work with another zone mate but i miss my area cuz i still am new and cant even remember my own investigators names. oh and tomorrow i got to go work in a different area, ha but its aight. toda w4e had a fun zone pday and we rode bikes artound a big lake while it was raining. that was fun then we watched a movie. "big brother. oh and also last week we found this way cool high train tract bridge that we had to walk over. it was sketchy, ha. oh and there are 4 of us in our aparrtment. ok chantell thanks foe the package. i got it earlier and those ties are way awesome. thanks bunches. ok well i love you all and i love missionary work. oh and did i mention that i now have a gym membership. ha i worked out twice this week for the first time in a year and half, coolness! hey! happy new year! wow it is already 2011... i come home in 2011, weird! time flies! well how was your new years? i hope you guys had fun, but i doubt it was as fun as ours, ha. they do it big here in the philippines when it comes to new years, hey but i will get more to that later. i will first get to transfers. i was transfered last thursday and i am now in san pablo city. haha this is the absolute complete opposite of my last area on the island!, ha i almost dont know what to do cuz i have never served in a city even close to this size. ha but i am loving it. hay we dont walk a whole lot, ha. we ride on tricycle a lot now. there cars and building everywhere, and i havnt seen a rice feild in days, ha its funny. i actually worked in this area for 2 days back in september when we cam e here for training meetings! hey and i got something cool to tell you about that. when i worked here in september we tracted this one house and met some cool dad with long hair that i tottally remember cuz he was way nice and it turns outthe very first place we went to when i got here was his house cuz we are now teaching his son who is 17 and has a baptismal goal date for jan 29. cool, because i was the one that found them like 4 months ago ha and now i get to see the process finished and harvest what i planted months ago. ha. weel i am now with another elder from my batch in the mtc. he is french canadian and i love this kid, ha. we are way stoked to be comps! he is also very hard working and i have a feeling that we will see some good work in this are while we are comps! he is a cool fun goofy guy! his name is elder leblanc from quebec canada. love the kid. oh and we are the zone leaders.oh and the ward here is pretty big and about 90 active members wich is the biggest yet that i have served in. ha so much for serving in all the far aresa now i am in the city, ha. i actually already feel more comfortable in this area and see things going reall well. i am excited.

well new years was way awesome. on new years eve i was like amazed how packed and noisy this place was, i mean coming from the island and all. i have never seen such a busy and noisy place in my life. all the motorcycles took of ther silencer pipes on new years eve and i found out they do that yearly at this time in order to drive and scare all the bad spirits away in order to start the new year of good. so here in the philippines new years is proly a bigger deal than christmas. man it seriously like a world war here when its new years. sooo many firworks. i cant even explain it, just for about to days sraight you here louds of fireworks than when it hits 12 midnight n\and its now the new year every direction you look you see fire works blowing off! its fun. we had all the aps and a few other elders stay at our appartment and we were up way to late, haha, but i still woke up on time, ha. oh and i got the packages! thanks a ton! i am really enjoyin the random stuff and eating all the junk! also today i gave some of the toys away to these little kids in our neighboorhood. they were way happy and i am planing on gic\ving them more everyfew days, ha thanks mom that was a good idea! i have a pic with some of them from new years eve, they were hanging out with us, ha. ok well i am happy and love you all. thanks for the support and prayer. good luvk.

well president happy new year! i am loving the new area and new companion. theres a lot of members here (at least more than i am used to) and elder leblanc likes to work hard! ha but i am still trying to get used to working in a city, that is somthing i have not experienced much untill now, ha. but i am excited for the work here. life is bueatifull! loving it like always! also i am greatfull and a bit humbled to have the oppurtunity to be a zone leader and be able to help out these other missionaries in the zone and get to know them all. so far it seems like it will be fun. me and elder leblanc get along real good! i am really excited to see how the work will shape out while we are comps. i see a lot of good coming from it! like after other times where i have been transfered out of an area my mind seems to worry a bit about my last area. i really hope the work continues to move upward in baco. like i said last time, that area just needs super hard working missionaries! i am also greatfull that you were able to reopen infanta! that was my favorite part of the whole week, finding out that those peaple up there that mean alot to me now have missionaries again. thanks pres! ok well once again pres i am still happy and enjoying the mission. it is now 2011 and we both have little ti9me left. lets do work! bye pres. i will try to do my best as a new zl and help these missionaries and be an example to them. thanks for the oppurtunity.

dear family,

wow, what a week. this week i am gonna give you a detailed emial on everthing that went down! .this week we WALKED! ha well thats it... hey wait we actually did more, we walked again. then walked some more. oh then every once and a while we tuaght a lesson, but we didnt stay around to long cuz we really wanted to get back to the fun stuff,... walking! yes i just love it. its awesome! haha. man i really have became a great walker on my mission. i should go into professional walking when i get back. i am gonna go find some walking marathons and work all those old ladies that walk every morning. i will show them how to walk with determination, smiling, and with the correct form! i cant wait for it! oh yeah and as we walk we dont talk to much cuz thats just distracting and my comp is quite and he prefers to walk 10 feet behind me! so we walk and walk and talk no talk! man its amazing! everyonce and a while i will pick up a rock and peg a dog, thats fun and adds a bit of obstacle into the walking. oh and sometimes if there is a tricyle that drives by and they are too full to give us a ride i will run side by side with them for a while, that really mixes things up a little and give the philipinos a nice good laugh as thay see this crazy american mormon missionionary runing them down. wow its good stuff! i wish you guys could see me in action, you would be so proud! oh and did i mention that we walk alot! well yeah we do. the fun will never die down as long as you keep your missionary work focus on walking! walk walk walk, that is the secret! try not to teach to much because that aint any fun, walking is where its at! haha. ok well now you now every exact thing and detail that happend this week in the life of elder brock william perry. oh and we got some great plans for christmas, we are gonna walk! yes dont be jealous, i will all teach you how to walk correctly when i get back!

HAHAHA ok well i am just teasin and i hope you read that in a sarcastic voice! i just wanted to let you know how much we walk in this area! we seem to be walking too much and not teaching enough. we are having alot of fun tho even tho are work is all far and not the prettiest. we use are sense of humor alot and just have fun. i actually really enjoyed the week this week! it was fun! oh hey guess what we got 2 baptismal gaul dates now. and theres is a lot of potential right now in the area, the progression is just slow cuz we get punted alot so we only seem to teach the investigators like once a week. theres a cool girl right now named leizle that we gave a great lesson to yesterday and she really wants to get baptized and will be on januarry 29 and hopefully her husband too! the girl joy that i baptized like 2 months ago has been sorta less active but she came to church yesterday so that was good. i had fun interviewing 5 peaple all in about 3 hours last friday. theres a kid name arjaylord that we are teaching right now and he lives far and we have to pay like 100 piso to get to huis house and back. andthe other day we got a tricycle ride out to his house but then we got a flat half way there so we had to walk like 30 more minutes to his house and since this house his way out in the mountains we there is absolutly no way to tricycle so we had to take a 1 hour and 45 inute walk back to the higthway, ha. we have gotten some rferals lately that has really spread our work out. yesterday we hyad fun giving a whole bunddle of lesson one pamphlets away. ok well all is good i love the work. hey MERRY CHRISTMAS! It was good talking to you all earlier for a sec. and hope youir christmas rocks. OH I LOVE IT WHEN LITTLE PHILIPPINO KIDS SAY "WE WISH YOU AN AMERICANO" haa funny. k talk to you all again next monday. bye love yah!

hey there! how you be. all is good. the work is still a bit tough in this area but i am am woking real hard to get it in order before i leave. i want to get it in good order for th new guy. its been a sorta hard area but its all good like always. we love the work. the hardest part is that the area is widespresd and we do more walking than teaching, ha! i really wanted to get some investigtors with baptismal gaol dats this week but it didnt work out this week. but next week i garentee we will have some.! hey so last week after i emailed you guys we went to pay our elctric bill and they told us that they cut it off and we had no more electricity. we had to wait to the daedline date to pay cuz the week before we were dry on cash cuz we hadnt gotten our support yet and my comp was liven off my saving ha. so the nxt day we went to pay it and they said they would get the electricity on right away but when we got home on tuesday night it was stil off, ha. so we had to walk around again with candle and sleep0 in the humid heat with no fans, ha. so the nxt morning i went all the way to the electric company again and got a bit angry and they promised they would take care of it and byt night time we would have it on again. well lets just say "i am in the philippines" ha so it still wasnt on and it turns out we didnt get electricity till friday afternoon, ha! crazy philippinos! i love them tho.ha. well here in the philippines when the cut you power they literally "cut it" like with scissors and all. they dont just do it from a computer they have to come to the house and cut the wires, ha. ok so that was a fun xperience that i will miss when i am back in the states. we have a cool investigator right now that is still early in the discussions but i tractd him about a month ago. the problem is he is always gone so we have onlyt taught him like 3 times. he is cool and his name is simeon and he is about 40 with 3 kids. when i first tracted him we started with teaching lesson 3 about the gospel of jesuschrist cuz he said he didnt believe in repentance. i taught him from the bom bible and d&c why we all must repent and it turns out that after reading all 3 of the pamphlets on his own his heart has totally changed and i have seen a big change in him. he now knows repentance is important!. now we need to help him realize why this is the true church and why he needs to repent and get baptized here. he has been a long t5ime catholic so we got to work at him buit he has got a lot of pottentila! we got some good potential right now but we just got to work really hard to see this stuff go throught. we work hard and even take time sometimes out of our study and lunch time to work but we still arent seeing the effcts. we will tho eventially. oh today we playd a tiny bit of bball and oncw again i found myself playing barefoot and once again i paid the consequences for it ha. my foot hurts, ha. it just a little cut tho so no worries. hey ok well i love the work and always optomistic about the mission and about life in general. ha i come home very soon, ha. what will i do? ha. i i love you all and hope you are feeling the christmas spirit! keep it up. i will talk to you in a fw weeks. love you.

oh and mom i forgot about your question. man i am sure learning a whole lot. i wish i could keep track of it all. lately i have learned alot about jesus christ and who he is and the centralality of his atonement. repentance. i have also learned how to love knowlegde and the gospel. i j\have learned how to love peaple, ha. i have leaned about hard work and i hate lazyness! patience. most of all my mission really has gotten me to want to be the best i possibly can be and has prepared me for life. and i hve learned a lot more. k bye!

hey there well i am glad that i was able to make up a good letter last week, i pulled it outa my butt, ha jk. but this letter i aint sure what youll think of cuz i dont got much to say. the week was good, we had christmas zone con on last wednesday, i was called on to speak and i talked abouit how much i love christmas and the savior, it was good. we also did a bit of missionary work this week, ha. which was fun. we found some good nice peaple to teach and hopefully i can get the work rollin better before i leave so we can have some baptisms shortly after i leave. we have a few investigators that should have been baptised a few weeks ago but things have come up and it looks like it might just take some time. more time than i have left in this area, ha. we are enjouying the work, my comp is cool but is super quite and i cant get him to say or do much, ha i sorta feel like i am training again, ha. its ok tho, i like being in charge. hey funny story, i think that guilt trip i gave that one girl last week(the one we walked in the flood to get to) might of worked cuz her older sister came to church yesterday and told me that daisy(the girl) was regretting her desiscion and wished she would have gotten baptized in this church so i think we might gewt to teach her after all. oh remeber that one girl marivic that was a way coiol investigator, well i hadnt seen her in forever and it turns out she is now in dubai and will be there for a few years, ! darn it! ok well i cant really think of any cool storiers that happened this work, just the same old work. oh and just to let you know, the reason i needed $ is cuz i got 1,500 piso stolen like 3 weeks ago(sadly i think it might of been my comp, ha) and than i slao had to use the $ mom sent in the package to support myself and my comp for 2 weeks cuz he claimed that he had no more cash and my mission support got stolen. so sorry about that, i will be more carefull. i am excited to send your christmas package, i should send it on thursday. ok well the work is swell, my testimony has grown a whole lot on the mission and i just continually want to learn more so i can be ba a better fined instrument in the hands of the lord now and in the future. i got so much still to learn, i love books and the scriptures! i love all you too!. keep it christmasie. baboooom, i am out. love,

hey well i resent the pictures so i hope you get them. oh and that sucks theat dad go bit . wahta up with derby. i hope he snaps out of it so he still exist when i get back.i miss that dog. i have gotten used to zombie dogs here in the philippines. i miss big fluffy cool ones like derby. hey well soryy i forgot to wish you a happy thanksgiving last wekk i sorta forgot hey but that doesnt mean that i aint greatfull for all you. i am greatfull for each of you. DAD, for being my dad and my rolemodel and giving me a cool child hood and always being my sport coaches. MOM, for being my mom and loving me and supporting me in all. CHANTELL, for being a pest and a good example and big sister, and sending packages and whatnot on my mission, ha. CODY, for being mentally handicap and a cool kid that sends crap emails, ha jk . HALEY, for being cute and my first baby sister that is funny. BRAYDEN, for being a terdnugget, and a tough little kid that likes football. and RYLIE, for being adorable and a cute little princess that misses me sooo much on my mission and cant wait for me to get home and give me big kisses, ha. hey thanks family fo all.

well we had a decent week and it was nicer cuz sister elma got baptized. she is great and has a lot of faith. it was the first time i got to baptize someone since my birthday. weird. man time flies. well we had a busy week, with zone interviews with pres, having to do baptismal interviews, service projest, work in far santeodor, baptism, having to renew apartment lease and whatnot, but is was swell.yesterday we went on splits and i worked with a branch missionary and we ended up walking through a flowding river up to our waist in our church gear for about hundreds of yards and than about an hour plus walk all to get to a referal and teach her just so we could show our comittment to teach her and then when we goit there she and her mom told us that they just got baptized in another church . so i was straight with then and told them they messed up and that that baptism into the recent church is useless, ha. yeah but thay were really nice ands all but we werent even able to teach them after spending half our sunday trying to get there, ha but on our way back as we were reaching the flowdwed spots we were blessed when a huge dumb truck drove by and hitched a ride and then when the dupp truck decided he couldnt cross the floud we were able to get on a little boat made out of banana trees. oh and the house we went to was flouded knee high and while we were in there we saw snake swimming around, ha what an experience. i am in the filipines. love it here. ok well back to elma, she is cool. she is one of my few investyigators i have got to actually find, teach, and baptize. she is cool, most of the time we have been teaching her to be honest i didnt realize she was so elect. cuz she has never really been able to keep up with the teaching and remember alot due to her stroke she had in june. but as she has gone through trials and her sons death i have been able to witness her great faith. man she just wants to fallow the savior. and then the other day she showed me her photo album and i got to see pics of her before she had a stroke and got diabeties and she looked tottally different and used to be chunky and all. thats when i really realized that she was an elect and our heavenly father has been looking for her for some time now. i realized you cant jugde a book by its cover. even tho she is a little cripple now and has a hard time remember the first vision and what happened with joseph smith, she still is loved by our heavenly father and wants to be obedient and return to him. man good experience. she is a good lady, and i have been blessed to meet and baptize her. ok well the works good we keep on trying to find the elect and all that are willing to give the gospel some time. its been harder to do that lately but its all shnazzy, love life and the work. oh and you all byebye.

ok well now i got some business to talk about. i need to send a your christmas package but i am short on cash but mom sent somne money in the last package specified to buy ornaments which i cant find anywhere, so should i use that? but if you got a little eextra maybe put it in my account so i can send off that package nxt week. if your short on cash i will try to figure it out or just wait to send it. oh and as far as packages go i told you last week to put the monet to better usde and give it to some needy our spoiul the kids even more but if you are hard headed and dont like my charitable ideas heres a few things, abreva, contacts, calender, and maybe some teeth whitnener<>

hey this was about 2 hours ago. the blood on my hand is from the leach that got a hold of me. hey the elder behind my fist is my new comp elder laguit. hey sorry all the pics i ever send you are from pdays. i need to send more with the people and my investigators. this was just emailed to me from anpther missionary so i thought i would send it. i dont have time to upload pics right now. lov ya

hey family. love you all. mom i hope your finger gets better quickly and dad i hope your headache is gone by now, ha. we had some good work this past week even tho we were busy with traveling to the mainland for transfer day. we are looking forward to the baptism of sister elma abaca this coming saterday. she is the one thats son just died a few weeks ago and is semi cripple(well she just uses a cain). its been great to see the strength of her faith recently and see her desire for baptism. we had to postpone her baptism a few weeks ago cuz we felt it was best in order to get here more prepared mentally and it sorta bummed her but she deffinetly is excited. i curently have a new comp named elder laguit from mindanao and he is cool. he is visayan so his tagalog aint super advanced but he is the first philippino comp i have had that aint femmy ha. he likes sports! ha. its only been two days so far but i think it will be a fine companionship. i was a bit bumbed when i found out that my last area in infanta has been closed and no longer has missionaries. this has happened to my last two areas, 2 transfers after i left. the worst part is is that out of the 5 people i was hoppuing to baptize there when i left, none were ever baptized... umm why? i dunno. i talked to the missionary that replaced me and he just didnt seem like he cared.! darn. hey but its ok cuz the lord is in charge. hey one positive is that we found alot of referals from members this week so hopefully we will have some new potential baptisma. i havnt given a baptismal gaol date to an investigator in like 2 months ha. today for pday we did chores at the zoneleaders apartment and went to some cool waterfalls in my area and got attacked by a leech, but its all good. we have interviews with president tomorrow. hey have i ever mentioned to you how much i love studying and reading. i just want o p[ack my brain with so much knowlegde. ok well i got nothing. i love you and i love this work thanks alot for the package i reacived it the other day along with the letters. i enjoying the cd player, new christmas music, candy, new ties and blob picture from rylie, haha. oh and mom thanks for the letter with all the tips and advice, it was a big help and i want to find some time to read it again and make out a gaol chacklist like you said. you guys put a smile on my face. love you keep it solid over there.

all is swell pres. well its always good to see the lords hand in the work. he is definetly there doing his thing. right now we are looking forward to one of our great investigators right now named sis elma. its been awesome to be able to see here faith grow ovwer the last few months since we found her when i first arrived here in baco branch. she has gone through a lot of trials in her life and quite a few recently as we have been teaching her the lessons. her oldest sone died about 3 weeks ago and she has recieved alot of opposittion from her family but she continues to have the srtongest desire to be baptized, she is a great nanay and we have been blessed to teach her. as of now she is our consistent investigator. the others (3) that should also be baptized this coming saturday are having a hard time understanding the gouing to church part and keeping skipping out on that part. and on of them also has a huge desire to be baptized but her husband is sorta slowing the process down and we cant seem to teach him cuz he is always over in pola. we have found new investigators alot the last transfer but not many of them are progressing, so we are still looking and ju8st doin our best. they cool thing is that we have some real good potential investigators that at are coming from referals that we need to visit this week. hey well elder laguit seems like a real good humble missionaery and i am excited to work with him this transfer. hey pres something that has a bit heartbreaking to me is finding out that infanta has been closed at none of the peaple that i taught or investigators i thought i had ready for baptism have been baptized since i left. man that stinks i really found some way cool people up there. hey but like i said earlier the lord is in charge and nothing will stop the work from progressing. pres talk to ya tomorrow at interviews. love ya man. elder perry

hey there family, happy day. oh and happy birthday to chantell tomorrow! well i hope you all didnt think i was super discouraged last week. i wasnt, i was just tired and a little frustrated with some stuff but i still was enjoying the work like usuall. this week went by well, but there was a little bitt of frustration but nothin i cant handle ha, the happyness off missionary work deffinetly outweight the tiny frustrations so its all good and dont think i am a little woose or somethin, ha jk. its always just fine here in the service of god! and anyways i always count my blessing at the end of the day. i have this daily planner thing i bought and i just use it to write down 5 daily blessings, and i can almost always find 5 unless i am to tired and just fall asleep when i get home, ha.

hey one thing i am real stoked about right now is that i just got a email from the missionary that i just replaced her in baco (elder saundersfrom my batch in the mtc) who is curently serving in my first area over there in pila and he just baptized the the rest of a familt that i taught whn i was there. i baptized the oldest daughter rhika mea that was 12 at the time and she was my very first baptism. me and elder etcitty where teaching the mom and rhika and the two other kids and the mom and rhika had babtismal gaol dates then we cuaght the mom drunk and had to cancle her baptismal gaol date but we continued with rhikas even tho she was young cuz we thaought it would lead to the eventual baptism of the mom! ha and a year later thats exactly what happened and now the two littleer siblings are baptized too. cool eh? i have alot of pics with that little girl, ha i will send you the pic that elder saunders just sent me. man its awesome to9 see that work out while i am still in the feild. its just like those stories dad and mom just mention in their emails.

hey and as for the work here. we have 4 baptismal gaul dates for the 27 but 3 of them skipped church again so we will have to most likely postpone again, ha but its ok. sister elma abacas faith is really strong and even through all her trails and opposition she is still determined to be baptized. its great. me and elder talabis have found alot of potential lately and even just since he got here the work has changed alittle, meaning we have alto of different peaple, but we still havent been able to geive away a baptismal gaul date for about maybe 2 months now, i have had a good time with elder talabis and its been like training again. he gave alittle talk yesterday and he said that the 2 things he has learned while serving with me is "walk hard, and work hard" ha. he ends his 4 weeks as a service missionary on friday. he spent two weeks with one missionary and then do to the emergency transfer he will have been my comps for 2 weeks also. on friday i will get a new comp. ok well all is swell, i will get your letters and package on friday when i am at the mission home for transfer day, i am excited. i baught you guys some christmas presents earlier anhd am looking to send that off nxt week once i have an oppurtunity to reuse the box you sent, ha. oh and if i am gonna get the christmas before christmas you will need to send it soon cuz it will take longer to get to me this year cuz i am on an island, ha. i want some fresh 1 dollar bills to give out to my baptisms(peaple have reguested them lately) and maybe a new tie or two. ok loves you all. thanks again for the support. time is a tiken! bye

hey there. well i am a little sick to my stomach right now because of what i heard about our cousin cameron. man i dont even know what to think. that kid was so cool and i thought alot of him and it seemed that i had a lot in common with him. that is a very sad thing to hear. i hope he can overcome his weaknesses and trials. i will write him a letter asap. where should i send it? grandmas? i will deffinetly pray for him and uncle joe! those are some sad stories. mom and dad, make sure you two never get divorced. Not that i think you ever would, i am just saying! hey well i always pray for you all back there but i am not gonna lie i havent beren doing the most consistent job with praying for the specifics, like the list mom gave me a few weeks ago. sorry i will try to do better!

hey well anyway its been a crazy week. i just sorta have a headache right now and am tired. we had those meeting in sanpablo untill thursday and after meetings in the afternoons i went to other elders area that attended the meeting too and we worked. i was sorta disappointed in the lazyness of alot of missionaries... hey but the meetings were good and we learned alot, now i just got to try and teach it all to my now very small district and apply all the new knowlegde to my work. hey but i and up staying at the mission home unplanned on thursday night due to a problem that sorta happened with my comp when i was in sanpablo at the leadership meetings. it turns out my comp had to comein and talk to the mission pres and he has now been emergency transfered and i currently have a new short term compt untill transfer day on the coming 19th. so my comp elder aguanta has been emergency transfered and i dont know if i should say why but just know that it has NOTHING to do with me. ha ok? alrtighty then. my new comp is named elder talabis and is just a service missionary and has only been serving for 2 weeks and will only be serving for 2 more. he hasnt even been a member for a year yet. its like working with a branch missionary. he is very soft, doesnt know what it takes to be a missionary, and complains way to much, its not to fun but i guess i can deal with it for 2 weeks. hopefully! so i 2 weeks i will get a new comp. the thing is i was gonna likely get transfered on the coming transferday but now that this weird situation happend i gots to stay put for another 6 weeks but i will be transfered at the end of december. i dont know what to think cuz i felt like it was my time sorta to go and i felt like i wasnt gonna be in this area to long. oh and the branch presidency doesnt like me too much, ha ughhhhhhhh. blahblahblah. jk its all gray no worries. the work has just been weird for me here in baco and i just havnet had a great vission for the area or grasp for the work like in my last area. well, the few progressing investigators continue to dissapoint me cuz they arent fully committed yet and skip church or only stay for sacrement. its frustrating cuz they just dont fully get it yet. we keep having to postpone baptisms oh and that way cool investigator, marivic, is a big let down right now. i still havent seen her yet in like 2 weeks and i think she might now be hidding from us.... :( man its sad stuff cuz i really felt she was sincere. its juist been a confusing week but all is good and i still love the work. we had fun at the beach today, but now i have way to much to cathc up on like 2 weeks worth of wash that i have to go home and wash right now. if i am lucky i will be in bed by 12. ha sorry for the lame email. all is chill. i love the peaple here, they are cool and nice. too bad i cant say that about my philippino comps, they are just wierd!!! (oops more negativity). hey mom speeaking of nativity scenes i ordered you one last week so its getting made right now so you proly will get it when i get home, sorry i wont be able to get there by christmas. oh and asbout money i spent alot last week but still have about 4000 piso so that should last a month or proly more. hey how is everyt5hing going with work, financial, loosing weihgt.board, and other stuff. hey i heard jobro is going on a mission, coolbeans. ok well i am greatfull for you all. thanks for the support. i love the mission :))) bye bey, stay safe.

hello family. hows your hamily fome evings going? ha jk i just wanted to say the weird stupid way like i used to. hey thanks pops for the concistent emails, and for the pics! the kids are lookin thuggish in their holloween goans. man i sorta forgot this year that it was halloween! wackness. in the philippines it is called all saints day and i didnt really even notice the activities going on that much this year. its proly cuz i live in a way small town. but on all saints day the philippinos just go to the cemitaries and vist ther deceased relatives. we actually spent our sunday yesterday at the cematary also attending a funeral cuz one of our investrigators sons died and we gave her emaotional support by attendeing the funeral. its a sad situation but the its one of our investigators that has committed to baptism. it waas the first time she ddint come to church in like 3 or 4 weeks. she is sorta cripple too and she has no morer husband and she cant work due to her being cripple, and we cant get anyone from the brach to help her get a ride home from church. lets just say that the branch presidency sorta is lazy here. well thats a good happy topic to start with the email, ha.(hey ps. sorry for all the misspelling in this and all my other emails, i am alwys like how is that word spelt and i just get stubbled so i just write whatever hoping that you all ccan understan, ha)

well anyways the work was, well... just ok this week. we had a meeting with the branch presidency yesterday before church which we have weekly called pec and we sorta brought up the fact that they dont give a crap about our work (but we did it in a very nice way) and they just got offended and way defenses. so it doesnt look like will start carring about missionary work any time soon. ha its ok wecan mannage on our own fine. also one other sorta dissapointing thing is that we never got to teach one of our way cool investigators last week, marivic, the one i told you about. but i think her trip bck to dubai is still postponed a bit. i really hope we get to see her this week. but the thing is i aint in my area untill friday because we have meetings agian and i am curently on the mainland! i aint really looking forward to these meatings, they are long and boring and sorta just take away from the work in our individuall areas. well this eamil aint to darn ecxiting. well we have been finding more peaple latly but the only thing is that wecant get hardly anyone to prgress. darnit! ha. its all good tho cuz it just takes a bit more faith and a positive attide on our part. well some col things are that we did have one investigator come to church that came on her on with her two bay kids. on of my investigators sowed up my Backpack and washed it for me. i had a way great day today cuz i got to see my trainee elder roxas for the first time since i left infanta. he snuck up behind me whil i was waiting in a line at mcdanolds, so i got to eat lunch with him and catch up on stuff. its great to his progress so for in the feild. he is doing good. i miss that kid. i have been really lucky to have 4 way cool american comps so far in the feild that will be defint lifetime friends. etcitty, bernard, liddle, and roxas. man those3 kids are awesome and i am ecxited to see bernard and liddle tomorrow. well all is swell here. it was still a fun shnazzzy week even if they email may seem not so. happy halloween you terds! love you all a butt load. next year i wll dress up with all you kids too and we will trickandtreat. hey loves you again. stay safe a cool. hEy there family. well i already sent some pics so i hope you all enjoy that. i got all the pics that you guys sent and thought i should send some too cuz i have ment too the last few weeks! so there you go, i wish i could send more but it just ends up wasting all of my internet tim to upload pics! hey well thanks for the pics. its good to see updated photos. everyone looks good. the kids are big terds now, not just little ones, oh speaking of terds i hope you like the one i got of the karabao taking a duece, haha. hey i have a quick little request, mom, nxt time you send pics make them little bit bigger.

ok well we had a good week of work and also a good pday. i will start with pday cuz thats freshest in my mind. we went to the beach in pinamalayan that we went to a few weeks ago. on the way we got a flat tire so me and elder gonzalez, from my district in the mtc, also my new zoneleader(and also from awatukee), had a fun time switching it out. at the beach we proly had the funnest pday ever! it ended up raining while we were there and we played a way fun football game on the beach with a minature football, and we even were playing tackle. it was way too much fun! it was pourin rain and we were drenched and a few time we got tackle in to the water,hahaha, dont tell president, ha. jk. man it was a blast. seriously proly the funnest pday of the mission! i guess thats what ends up happening when you get a bunch of american missionaries all on the island. hey but it was way cool tho cuz we got one of the philippinos to play with us! man what good memories in the mission!

Also, i had a way fun split with elder gonzalez on last friday an saturday morning! i worked in his area to go do a baptismal interview andthen worked there till the nxt morning. it was fun too. we had no appointments scheduled so we decided to tract from 2pm till 8ish and we decided we would tract in the city with all the rich houses, where peaple never let you in. and man was it a success. we suprisingly got in to almost every single house and found like 17 new potential investigators. we were just having so much fun and elder gonzalez is a nutt! its way fun working with a good freind and adds a lot of life to the work! hey too bad all those peaple i wont see again cuz they are in his area, ha but as long as the work progresses.

ok so right now we got one way cool investigator that we found about three weeks ago named marivic adra. she is great. she is 24 yrs old and a very much so party girl that usaully works abraod in Dubai and doesnt want to get married till she is mid thirties and just wants to make money in life and party with freinds. well that sorta here veiwpoint on life. but we met her a few weeks ago and she has become one of my favorite investigators ever. through the gopel and the spirit she has come to realize that she wants to come closer to jesus christ and that she wants to change her life.evertime we teach her she comes so much closer to making big change in her life. she always reads the assignments and picks out her favorite verses, she alw3ays is praying to know if the message is true and if she needs to be baptized in this church, its just amazing, she really is one of the 'elect' and every time we teach her i feall the spirit strongly and i just feal gods love for her and how bad he wants her to straighten out her life. its sssgggoooood stuff! the only problem is that she is supposed to be going back to dubai this week, actually today buty it got postponed a bit. i really badly hope and pray that i will be able to see her continue to9 make progressin to baptism, shes special. hey it would be cool if you guys could say a little pray that everything works out well and that she is able to postpone her trip to dubai in order to get baptized, that would be some real cool beans! as for the rest of or investigators, they are doing good too, we just have to keep postponing baptism cuz they keep skipping church! urgh! ha ok well lifes good. i love this work , and i love you all more. keep it happy over there. i look forward to see all your faces in person again oh and i look forward to the package! thanks. x0x0x0x0x0 LUVS,

hey! kids(cody included) thanks for the eamils, its good to hear from you little twurps. sorry you dont have any food at home. i got none either in my house! one of my favorite things here in the philippines are the little kids cuz they remind me of you guys! they are so funny here. i met a little girl yesterday that has the same exact birthday as haley and is her same age. it was cool. i always ask the kids how old they are so i can get a little jist of how big you little terds are now. i am always amazed how big they are when they tell me that they are the same ages as you punks. you guys are gonna be gynormous by the time i get back. oh before i forget, mom i could use about a 3-6 month supply of contacts in my christmas package. and chantell. i think i want you to apply me to the spring semesters at the 3 schools. you know witch ones. ok so thaks for the prayers and fast on my behalf. i am doing well like always, just emnjoying life and wearing self out in the service of my god. we had a lot ofr good work this week. we found a but load of new investigators so thanks again for the prayers. letts just keep praying that they become progressing investigators. we have some good investigators right now just not a whole lot of progressing, ha. its all good tho the work is fine. nxt week i will try to give a update on our investigators, if i have time. ha. well we had a cool pday today and went with the two newbies to the district(elders lee and viloria) to their area and found some cool waterfalls and rodw on a calabow.(big bull thingy) it was fun i found some cool crafts that mom would like and i almost bought some. hey maybe if you guys come pic me up i will take you there. ok well the other elders are waiting on me i gots to go. keep it safe and heathly over there. i will here. love you all. ctr. byebye! oh and by the way. itook a list of the things mom said and will pray for them specifically, man thats a long list, ha jk. loe you all to the moon and back alot of times!

Well like usuall all is good here on the island. we got some good peaple we are teaching right now, and we have been lucky to see the lord soften the hearts and open the eyes of some of our investigators that at first didnt want o have much to do with the church. one is named vernon and his wife joann currently has a bgd. it was a good week and tho our teaching was low we had some very good lessons! which is most important. we have had a hard time tracting lately and getting into houses but i think that can be a quick fix with some added faith and trust in the lord. man was conference good or what. i learned a butt load and the knowledge was flying at me like too fast. i just hope i do a good job applying what i learned! the zone and district are doing well, that is thge district as of last week. the newbies seem good and i got to get to know the new memers of the zone at the conference. its great to have elders lee and villoria now in the district and having them bumped down from the ap position to join us here on the island and open up santeodoro is way exciteing! i am stoked for that! so i guess i will just let them feed you the info on that now.! i am glad to have a big district now! ok well keep up the good work ovewr there i will try to work my butt off this week. i am luving the work. just stikin in there like always. luvs it! byebye.

it was a good week. we are keepin it hard working over here on this island. and having some fun while we do it! it was trandsfers again last week but me and elder aguanta are still comps. but there are a lot of newbies on the island. that on area that i have been working in somtimes, san teodoro now has middinaries in it. cool eh. the two aps(assistants to the president) droped sown in order to open up that area so i am stoked about that. my district just got a bit bigger and we got two killer good missionaries. kool eh? we also had some good work this past week. we now have 4 investigators with baptismal goal dates so that goo. too bad they didnt go to conference yesterday so meaning we have to wait 4 more weeks for them to be baptized so they can go to church 4 time in a row. thats a reguirment here in the philippines. we have a way cool investigator named joann that is really gaining a testimony right now after being scaredto invwestigat the church becuase her husband is born again. but we got her to listen and now she knows its all true and now also here husband is willingly listening and it is all making sense to him. i think we will baptize them both. kool eh? hmmm. my companion is really intop victoria secret perfum, ha. weird eh? he thinks its unisex. ha nutt head. he is chill tho. well. general conference was legit. i hope you all learned a lot and go and apply it. one thing i liked was when onew of the guys gave advice for a strong family. one thing he said was family dinner and also individual interviews. hmm. well, the only thing i can think of for a package is a new calender and some tabasco cheezitz. i hope mom feels better. man i am not good with email, i am rushing this one cuz i didnt get emails from you till halfway through my internet time. ok well its all good. i still am enjoying the mission and this past week was good. be obedient and be happy. i pray for you all. bybye

all is swell. i have been trying to upload pics so i am now short on time.! thats cool that they are building another temple in the philippines! and no we have not yet watched conference. we will this week. this week was good. my are got sorta neglected this week cuz elder got sick (faked it, ha) for a whole day, then we had two days in a row working in other missionaries areas in order for me to do interviews. so we only worked in our area for 3 days this week! bust! but its all good. well one of the days out of my area i got to worked with elder etcitty (my trainer) for the first time in a year. it was way fun and elder etcitty is awesome! he goes back home(page,az) in like 6 weeks. he also says he will be coming to my homecoming so you guys will be able to meet him. we had 5 peaple come to church this week which suprised me alot this week should be a good week of work. hey my comp is waiting on me, so... hey well all is going good here. i gots to go tho. i pray for you alls allsways. keep it reals always! do family scripture study! enjoy the pics! i love this work!

ok well this is the second tuesday in a row that i am emailing you. you might all be thinking that i am disobedient now but thats deffinetly not the case.! my excuse this week is that we switched our pday to tuesday in order to do a big zone activity so everyone could particippate and yes we got it approved by president! i ment to email just a short one yesterday but it just didnt happen, i was lost in the work, ha. sorry. i hope mom didnt call president ha. jk. so we had a good week. on friday i had a busy day cuz i had to go to two other areas to do baptismal interviews and i ended up having 5 baptismal interviews in one day wich was a bit tireing but that is the best responsibility of being a district leader. getting to interview the "elect" and the peaple who are wanting to be obedient to comandments! its fun stuff. i get to see these investigators quikly grooowing and strong testimonies as they get ready to enter the waters of baptism. as for my area we also had a baptism on saturday so that means that there was 6 baptisms in the district this past week. i think thats a good number. so our baptism went weel and there were a ton of peaple there that attended due to a activity going on at the church! so elder aguanta baptised the girl and he sorta slamed her in the water so that was a fun laugh, ha. but this girl is way cool! her name is joy marasigan and she is 19 yrs old. aftr she was baptised she bore her testimony but me and elder didnt get to see it cuz they continued the service without out us when elder was changing into his missionary attire. man i was bummed cuz everyone said it was way good and she cried and all. darn i told her that she needed to redue it but she is too shy, ha. so that was a good baptism. so now at this point we are down to no investigators with baptismal goal dates wich is pretty tough but that should change this week. we have a few other cool investigators and two of t6hem are the older sisters of joy that both have husbands so we are looking forward to that and them getting baptized in the comi9ng month, but othger than that our investigators are a bit slim and we continue to do lots of tracting! its all good, i just got to step up my faith. oh and also on saturday we had this "family week" activity and we stuck around for a few hours being lazy missionaries but it was good to spend time with the branch and our investigators that attended. joy already has some good freinds in the branch and its good cuz at first we couldnt get her to go to the youth clase at church cuz she is so shy but now sh aint so much. on sunday president anderson came over to the island and came to church in our branch to discuse some stuff, including the potential of uping up santeodoro as a new area. i told him it isnt ready yet and he agreed but it should be ready in a few months. it was great to see president and sister anderson. and he was telling me how much he loves mom, ha! he is a good guy, hopfully you guys meet him some day! yesterday we worked and today we had proly the best pday ever. we went out on a boaut and found this way cool beach! and yes i got toasted again! i got some way good pics that hopefully i will be able to send! we played a little bit of football! yes!!!! awesome! climbed some cocunut trees, ate some delicious filipino food with our dirtie sandy hands, ran up a little cliff and took a way cool panaramic pic, rode back on the little tiny boat to the mainland with some decently sized waves rockin us back and forth! sat on the back of the truck for about two hour ride talking to my old trainer elder etcitty just about the gospel and life! i love etcitty! well it was a great pday in paradise. ok well lemme try to answer si=ome questions!- no i dont need money, i still got 10,000 piso stached away!-yes i am still loving the mission even tho sometimes things pic at your head!-the island is ridonkulously beautifull, i just need to work harder and find more investigators!-no my area is not poor, or, its not any poorer than the rest of the philippines, ha! ok well i will continue to pray for all of you and the things you brought up. just always have a good attitude and always live in the present, dont live our worry so much about tomorrow!

ha one thing you asked is if i neede you guys to pray for me. alot of times i feel very urgent, like i got so much to do, learn, peaple to find, but so little time. i couple of times last week i had dreams, for the very first time, about being home. and i hardly ever have dreams. ha i guess the fact that i only got ten months left is in the back of my mind. i only got 10 left but i feel like i need like 1000 to get all i need to get done. ha, i just feel very urgent, i guess. i want to learn so much more, get way better in tagalog, find those peaple and families, and just make the most of the lords time. i just want to be bomb missionary! cody, make sure you prep good! ha. also i am trying to get better at being better intune with the spirit. haha i gots lots of work still to do before i bounce back. ok well thanks for the support. loves you all. keep that in mind always! sorry i dont write letters ever. oh and ps. once again i cant upload pics. sorry. hmm,... well we had a good week. we are staring to find some good potential investigators. we also have a baptism this coming saturday. its a 19 year old girl named joy. we have alot of fun teaching here with her sister and brother in law who are both members. we are also teaching two more of here sisters who have potential for baptism. theres one cool guy that we found last week that really seems to be prepared. he already read all of the first pamphlet and the introduction of the book of mormon and mor0ni 10:3-5. he did it all on his own and i feel like he really is searching! i dont know if i already told you this but we currently hold 3 sacremant meeting here in baco branch, and two of them are in really far places. we are trying to get this one small town called santeodor ready for missionaries, its still got a lot of work tho and i got to figure out how thats gonna work!

hey president. so while we were in the internet shop it brown outed yesterday so we didnt get to email you or our families so we stoped by this morning to get it done. so all is still going good0 here. we have a baptism on saturday. its a 19 year old girl named joy sha is cool and we are actually teaching two of here other older sibhlings too wich have potential for baptism in the coming weekss. we have been tracting alot still and are being guided to some searching peaple. its good to have the help of the lord to find! the district is going good and seems to be no concerns there. i had a interview last week and the naujan elders did well preparing their investigator for baptism and i saw the big changes that he has experienced in his life since being taught the restord gospel. i think i got like 5 interview to do this friday so thats awesome! we should have about 6 baptism in the district on saturday! me and elder aguanta are doing good. our biggest concern here is trying to work 3 sacrement meetings in 3 seperat areas, including santeodoro.. i am trying to figure out the direction and plan of the branch presidency here but they dont really know what they want to do. i heard that you might make it over here to church on sunday so it would be good to talk it over with you to get some direction with where we are going with that stuff. ok well thats all pres. !

Dear family,

well i will just start this letter by letting you all know that you guys are all troopers over there in the real world. ever since day one of me being gone from home it seems to be that the trials just keep comin your way and its hard for you guys to get a break any longer than a few weeks. its a little backwards than what you expect too happen to a family of a full time missionary. to tell you the truth one of the many reasons for me going on a mission was for you guys and for my family to be blessed. and although it may seem a little backwards right now i know that the Lord will follow through with his his promises, he's got to. we just got to trust in him. and be obedient. the promise is in obedience. like chantell said in her email, gods got a plan for all of us and thats what keeps her going. we all know about he great plan of happiness and about our savior jesus christ. and if thats all we got to hold on to that should be enough. through jesus christ all things our possible. he came into the world to make our lifes easier and make they way unto salvation. its just striaght ridonkuluos to think about and at times hard to even comprehend. but i know he is our saviour and mediatour. theres a lot of peaple here in the philippines and in the whole world that say that they believe IN jesus christ but do they really believe HIM and all he taught said and did? we all just need to get a better grasp of him and his life, teachings and atonement and put more trust in him and his promises. this is something i am trying to better do. he said he was the son of god, he said he would take away our sins, he said through him we could find everlasting happiness and return to the father. man how cool is that? we just got to do our best always and have some hope, faith and we will all make it through the rough stuff. you all can do it. hey if we look it in gods perspective, in his time, eternity, our rough times are short. "My son, peace be unto thy soul; thine adversity and thine afflictions shall be but a small moment." d&c 121:7. aint that just darn cool? ha hey but i got it easy ovewr here in paradise as a missionary but i truly do know that these things are true and that everything is just that much easier with true knowlegde of our savior. "...look to GOD and live..." alma 37:47. hey so for all you over there that arent chillin over on this side of the world in paradise keep on chuggin and make your own paradise over there in that scorchin dessert. "just do it" nike, haha.

ok so on to other things... just to make you a little jealous i really am in paradise over here, for pday today we hung at a way cool beach. i will send some photos. it was a lot of fun. oh i ment to tell you this last week but its already christmas time here in the philippines, they are already playing christmas hymns in stores and we sing them in sacremant meeting. cool beans!!! oh also a lot of weird funny random things happen here in the philippines like electrical workers stablizing their ladders on electric wires as they climb up them to fix the wires and like mothers feeding their little babies and just leaving out their "feeding devices" after the baby is finished right in the middle of lessons, so when weird things happen like this we just use the 5 finger rule, You, Are, In, The, Philippines. ha funny stuff! ok well my week was dandy the work is still reall slow for us, we got little investigators and have a lot of finding still to do but we just keep on keepin on so its all good.

ok well sorry i never got to finish my email last week.

i will just sorta continue from last week. ok well like i said last week we had leadership meetings in sanpablo for like three days so i still feel very new in my new area where i have been assigned for over a week now. i have onhly worked here a few days so far. the work here is a little slow now and i will just say i miss the good work i had going in infanta. we have 1 progressing investigator and 0 baptismal gaol dates. but its all good i am ecxited to get this area rolling like i did to infanta when i first got there. once i get adjusted in this area a bit more the work will pick up. i just got to figure out how i am gonna do it. i am in baco, mindoro and i am serving in a branch again and we had about 55 peaple at church yesterday. so thats a little bit more than i am used to in infanta. the best thing is that there are atually more than 4 active priesthood in this branch. we have a semi small church building. our appartment is right next to the church building. my first and second impression of the branch president is a bit sketchy, if i were to explain him i would use the word "tool" but he is our branch president so i proly should erase that and not talk bad about him but i will just leave it haha. we actually hold two sacrement meetings, one is over in this for area right on the beach at some white guys house. so when its sunday we are at church from like 9 to 5, ha coool eh? my new comp is elder aguanta. he is a nice guy. he is short and quite. i dont think there will be any problems. i am the new district leader here. my zone leaders are elder etcitty, yes thats my trainer, and elder fonbuena that i new in the mtc and from my batch in the mtc. the other district leader is elder lopez from my batch in the mtc too. we got some cool leadfership on this island, all american, ha. well when i first showed up to my apartment it was a mess. so ghetto, than on last monday i spent most the day cleaning! fun, eh? i spent 3 hours on the bathroom. i will have to send some before and after pics of the bathroom. its dazzling now! its been a weird adjustment trying to change to a filipino comp after training an american for a few months. i always just want to do all the teaching. i learned a lesson abouyt charity and love this past week whil working in my new area. things just feel different when you change areas and i just wasnt feeling the excitment as much for the work. what i learned is that its all about love for the peaple and investigators and members. my first tweo days here i was just like i miss my investigators and the mebers in infanta. those peaple i found up there and met mean a lot to me. man its just different when their not the investigators you found. hey but i know i will gain that love too for these peaple here. i already see it coming. i just got straight love for all filipinos now. hey ma i am excited to read that list of philipino characteristic traits. i bet its all true! ok well i am low on time again. i got alot of work to do. i got to get this area going and prepare workshops for district meeting, ha. i hope everything works out well over there. grandma, thanks for the package! i love the goods! and thanks pops for the camera. thanks mom for all the fotos you took on the camera, everyone looks old. cody too, tell him he needs to shave! that scrub!

well sorry for not emailing last week, you already know the situation. the training meetings were great even if they were long but i learned a lot and just pray that i will be able to apply them myself and help my district apply them. i am excited to now be a district leader and i also pray that i will be able to fullfill my calling well and be a great leader and exampe for the rest of my district. i actually met everyone from the district just today. we got some good missionaries here in the district and on this whole island. it will be good stuff! as for my area it is also doing good. me and elder aguanta are getting along fine. i miss infanta a bit but thats in the past and just got to continue with the work here in baco and look forward with an eye of faith. as you can see from the numbers we have a lot to work on when it comes to progressing investigators and BGD. i am hoping we will get a few out this week. we will be doing a lot of finding for the coming weeks. i am a little confused what i need to be doing in the san teodoro area but i guess the aps are coming up this week so i will talk to them and see what we should be doing over in that area. ok well i continue to be loving life. like always no worries here. oh and thanks for the support when it comes to emails and phone call coming from my family. ok i gots to go bye president.!

hmmm...

how is everybody? i am doing shnazzy. i hope you are too despite some difficulties. well for once i feel like i got a whole lot to say but the thing is i dont got a whole lot of time cuz i got to go catch a boat. (yes i said boat) ha. well mom can finally get some rest and stop worry cuz i am out of infanta! ha. i got transfered on friday and i gots a new area and new comp. so i was figuring before transf3ers that my new area would end up like nxt door to the mission president due to mom being a worrywart and always calling and emailing pres. well guess what..? if you were thinking that like i was we were all wrong. ha i am now in baco, mindoro. if your looking on a map you will have to take your eyes of the the main land and start looking towards the islands. yep i am now serving on an island. its about a 1 and half hour boat ride from the main land. its way pretty and my area has the number 1 vacation spot in our mission puerto gellera. so thats cool. oh mom dont worry cuz its safe here so dont go calling president........... ok i got to go catch a boat and head to the main land. we got like three days of leadership training at the mission home. i will try to get to an internet shop later tonight to finif\sh this letter. if i dont that just means i didnt have time.

family,

it was a good week. we still got some cool investigators. one should be getting baptized on saturday . her name is mellorie, she is 15. she has completly shown her desire to be baptized. (i feel like i have baptized too many youngsters, and not enough families, ha . its ok tho). we have also been trying to strengthen the ward but its hard. we will get peaple to come and then they will m\be gone the nxt week if we arent able to teach them during the week. its like everyone here goes to church everyother week. if they all went weekly this would be a real good branch! that family we found is stiil cool , we cant seem teach them right now tho cuz the dad is busy at work. they are awesome. the mom is so happy always to see us! i hope i can get to see them come to church before i get transfered! we had zone con on thursday and this will be the last one in a while cuz the mission is changeing alot and the cu rriculum is new now. its cool tho, what ever helps the work best. at zone con we watched a short slide show of pictures of christ and with "i believe in christ" playing in the background. it was awesome and felt the spirit strong. i love pics of christ and when its com bined with some music it is very spirituall. and then at the end it ended with the testimony of bruce r mckonkie about jesus. it was cool try to look it up n the computer or something. i highly suggest it! cool beeans eh? oh and by the way mom your wish was granted and we now have a cell phone. its just a annoyance tho, haha. but at least we are extremely super safe now! ha! oh and i liked the pics of the house, it looks good! oh and i wrote a short letter today and will send it soon. love you all. keep it kicken.

hey mom, dad, chantell, cody, haley, brayden and rylie!

hows you all be? i am good. well mom suprisingly i am still safe, ha! like i always am. there werent really any storms this week. we got rain tho but nothing too hard. and we were not givin a cell phone. i saw pres on thursday but nothing was mentioned about a cell phone. and i forgot to ask. hey but dont worry, i will be transfered in a few weeks so stop worrying. ok, huh??? oh you said you wanted detail about the rain. the last time i remember it raining much was last monday after we were done with our appointments. its started raining hard as we wre walking home and i was just walking in the rain like always and everybody just giving me these crazy looks because philippinos think that if your head gets rained on you are auitimatically sick. ha they call it "pasma" ha its funny, its just a funny mith and thy really believe in it. they will like legitly be sick the next day if their head got rained on, ha they just fake it! i still have never caught "pasma" ha. well one of dads questions was about if we had investigators come to church. and yers we did, we had 5 come to church. we have these investigators that want to get baptized but then they cant seem to figure out how to come to church 4 times in a row so they can get baptized, it stinks. because of this i proly wont get to see most these great investigators i have found here get baptized before i leave. ha. darn. we have a cool investigator right now named dalya tibayan and she really wants to get baptized but the thing is she has a family of 4 little kids and a husband but they just arent married yet so it will take some time to get them married before she gets baptized. oh i also found out that she ended up naming her son 'eric brock'. ha its funny cuz i was telling her cool names a while back when her son was first born and i was like yeah brock is a way cool name, just joking with her and she ended up using it, haha. crazy eh? that might be the first philipino named brock. we also were able to find a way awesome family this week. man they are great. its a family of 6 kids just like ours and man they are golden. their faces just glow and you can just feel that they are ready. its the solleza family. they are cool! i feel like they will all be baptized! its cool cuz its like the only peaple we have actually felt good about out of all the tracting we have done the last two weeks. hmmm... what else? well we have some other good investigators, it just takes longer then i would like to get them baptized, ha. weel the week was good for me. i hope the upcoming week goes well for you all and everything works out. love you all, i know this church is true.

hmmmm... HEY THERE! hows you be?

i am just fine. the week seemed to go faster then usually. crazy eh? well you just got done with our zone activity. it was nice, we got a break cuz the other missionaries took the 2 hour drive and cruzed up here. we ended up chillin at the beach for a few hours and tossed the frisbie around, chased some rabid dogs around(me and liddle) and made up some crazy rock game. i guess thats what happens when you go to a breach and yuor not allowed to swim, haha. oh and the whole time all the filipinos were hiding in the shade playing card games, yeah exciting!, haha. oh and we also got super sunburnt! it was hecka fun. oh and we had a service on sarturday way down in siniloan so that cool beans and i got to tear up some fatty weeds with a weed eater. the bad thing is that it sucked up our work time in infanta cuz its so darn for. hey but i got a package from jordan brown so that was a suprise, she is snazzy. ( thanks jobro!). hmmm.. well we had a very succesfull work week. we now have 7 baptismal goal dates for the near future, they are all way legit but the thing is that we have to get them to come to church 4 times in a row before they can get baptized so i am hoping that rule doesnt get in the way of me seeing these peaple get baptized before i bounce out of infanta. i seem to find all the great peaple at the end of my stay in an area. the work is doing well, but we are having a harder time finding new investigators recently and tracting is the only way we get investigators cuz we deffinetly dont get any referals. but the work is great. hmmm... sorry i dont ever tell any super ronkulous spiritual stories. i will try to work on that.. welli still havnt gotten a cell phone from president yet, if i do it should be on thursday, u will see him then. cody why are you such a women? you should play football! but if your gonna woose out make sure you tear it up on the vollyball court with the rest of the girls (oops that slipt... not really tho). chantell if you prayed about it and felt that you should stay in utah i would stick with that. hey get me applied for byu and uofu. hey ma the weather is fine, i had no clue that maynila is under water, cfray cool. manila always is the first to flood. i really enjoys the rain andi still don have an umbrella cuz i just walk in the raun. like last night on our way home i got drench, it wa srefreshing. pk well i should bounce outie, we gots work to be doing.i loves you peeps all a very much and hope you a;lls are swell. keep your heads up. letteme now how your week goes.

I am swell. As ma said I have now been a philippino for a year, weird huh? Yes I hit my year mark, and it was just a normal day. It was good. Now I only have like a year left. Hmmm, crazy. Well we had some good work this week. We got 5 peaple to come to church which is the most I have seen at church since like a long while. We also got some more investigators with baptismal gaol dates but we just have to get this people to come to church. Well it was a snazzy week. I don’t have much to say. One of or investigators is like a government officiall here in infanta so he gave us so cool yellow polos. Oh my old companion elder (friken) liddle is now my district leader, so that’s way cool! We bought ourselves a b-ball today so we don’t have to go searchin around every Monday when we want to play. We are gonna go ball it up later again. Its fun. Well I sent some photos so I am really hopin those make up for the crappy email. They do say that a piC is worth a thousand words so I think I just came up with a good excuse for th e lame letter. And now I will just keep typing and say whatever comes to mind just to make this email a tad bit longer so I don’t get any complaint. Oh one fun thing that I love doing is scaring all the pitifull dogs here in the Philippines. It all started back when me and elder liddle were comps, we would just allways have a killer time spookin those darn dogs, and the other day I spooked a dog and it was so scared of me that it ran in the middle on the road and sorta got hit by a scooter, hahaha. It didn’t really get ran over tho and it was fine, oh and don’t think of me as an animal abuser cus the dogs here aren’t really dogs, haha. You would know if you saw them, ha. hey there.

it was another good week! we had some fun and some good work and lessons. we sure walked in the rain a butt laod thanks to the bagyo's (typhoon) so that was fun but the lord blessed us for our effort. oh and not to mention we didnt have any umbrells. ha. i bought one for the first time last tuesday when the bagyo came and then it brok in like 2 days ha, so we were just litteraly walking in the rain. on saturday we were once again on a long walk to one of out investigators and its started pouring on us getting our books wet and all and by the time we got to our investigators house we looked like we just got out of the pool. it was cool. than our investigator was like said that we remainded him of himself when he was real active in his church and how he would walk in the rain too to church during rainy season. he gave a cool analogy of how as we as missionaries are in the service of god and walking in the rain it like we are literally washing away our sins. cool eh. he is a cool guy. that remainded me of scripture in like maybe d&c 62:3(somthing like that). then we had a reall good lesson with that family and then our way to our nxt appointment we were of course poured on again. the nxt lesson was even better and we taught about joseph smith using JSH and had a super good lesson and felt the spirit good. as i walked out of their house i was just greatfull to be a missionary and felt that the lord blessed us with 2 great lessons due to our effort. cool h? ok well what else3! oh about the storms! hey ma. dont worry nothin happend and we are safe! ha youy are a worry wart! its not even bad its just like a rain storm! quit your worrying woman! its not anymore dangerous here during a typhhon than it is anywhere else in the mission! this is the question... does rain kill??? no it doesnt so quit worrying. its seriously just like a rain storm! ha. hey but thanks it sound like you haver hooked us up with a call phone. me and elder roxas hve been thinking that we need one here in infanta. and plus it will be a huge help with the work and scheduling appointments. sweet thanks mom. oh and yes i do know sandy smith i have now known here for a year on thursday. we were in the same district in the mtc. she is cool and infamous in the mission. ha. i have a recent picture with here from a few weeks ago but the computer wont let me uplaod it off of elders camera. i will snd it nxt week. ok so that that. thanks for all of your uber coolness and for the emails from bray, cody, dad, and chantell, and of course mom. cody i bought you a cool brtacelet today and will send it eventually. hey, guess what/ i tyhink i might hit my year mark this week! whatthe frick. i am not sure tho, haaha. i better start working harder! well it sounds like your week was a little wack, ha. sorry bout that. cody still seems t o be a bone thugg! sounds like he proly wrecked it worse than me. ha. darn! put that foo to work. ok well ma i got all your packages now. i got the cd player lik before last week but it got surged in the power socket here but i got it fixed last monday for like 4 bucks and its all good now. thanks for that. i have lisend to the cds and my favorite is the one you didNT spend money on, ha the iz cds, haha. but the other ones are good too. thats something you can send more of whenever you decide to send another package. cds. well our work week went well this week. we have been teaching a butt load of potential priesthood holdders lately which is way awesome. we have about 9 focuses this week and they are all guys like above 25. cool eh? so we only got 2 baptismal goal dates but we got a whole lot of potential right now. we still need to find more peaple tho like always. we had a one day mission here on saturday.( where all the missionaries fro the zone come to our area and do less active reactivatio work.) it started about 2 hours late cuz no members were showing up butt it ended up working alright and we had a few more peaple come to church yesterday. like 3 more, ha. we worked with our branch president, pres. lopez. and he is cool and fun. he is actually interneting with us right now cuz we are gonna go play bball again later. last week we played bball at some rugged run down court and it was way fun. i was super sweaty and exhausted but by the end of the game there was a crowd of like 40 plus. yeah it was good times. we are actually gonna go play again in like 20 minutes so i am stoked for that. so the work is well. i am gonna be training elder for another transfer so that is good aand i wont be transfered this week. i continue to love the work and try my best. all is swell! keep it stizzy over there. love each and everyone of you. hows the summewr going? hot? cold? stormy? oh and i witnessed green lightning the other night. no joke.l.. the lighti\ning storms here are legit. me and elder walked home at like 9 the other night in some of the hardest rain ever. we literally bathed in the rain. it wasa awesome. it beat the bucket shower, haha. k love yous. peace foos!...

Hey all. How is everything going? How was the 4rth of july? We sorta forgot about independence day over there in America. The independence day here in the Philippines is actually my bday. Cool eh? Well I hope tht you all enjoyd your forth and your vacation in cali. We had a good week here. We found some good potential. We actually found somew real cool married guy and we have already given him a baptismal gaol date so that’s way cool. I finally finished reading the book of mormon this week. Its my second time on the mission but it took me over like six months this time but as I was reading I deffinetly gained a stronger testimony of it. That book is straight evidence of the truth of this church. Do guys realize that.? Also I was able to see my trainer elder etcitty at zone con. He has been in the hospital for the last 3 weeks and he got that tomur removed from his face. Its so good fro him. He is a good guy. Also I was able to translate a letter from tagalog to inglish that was addressed to Thomas s. monsan’ for my branch president. Cool huh? Hmmm what else? I got to ride a motorcycle for the first time in like over a year. That’s sorta bawal but I did it anyway and It was fun. Don’t worry ma I just rode it up the street and bak for like 2 seconds and I didnt go fast. I have decide that I will be buying a street bike when I get back, ha. OH YEAH ABOUT THE WEATHER. THERE HAVE BEEN SOME WAY COOL LIGHTINING STORMA LATELY. WITH SOME LOUD BUTT THUNDER, ITS BEEN WAY COOL! Yeah so it was a real good week and we had a lot of fun and the work went well. We are still working hard, having great experiences, and enjoying the work here in infanta. The mission is still bomb diggity and is still flying bye. Hey there everyone?

Well another week of the mission has gone by. It was a good week but our work has been going a bit downhill lately but at the same time we seem o be finding some good new people. We basically aren’t teaching hardly anyone that we were teaching 2 weeks ago cuz stuff just came up and most of them stoped progressing or smething else got in the way of their progressing to baptism. So last week we worked very hard but seemed to get punted a lot and get more rejection than usually. It was a slow week in terms of numbers but we still woked our butts off. But its all good cuz we still really enjoyed our work and had a reall good week in terms of happiness. Ha. The lord is still in charge of the work and he is puttng us where we need to be. Also another great thing from the week was opening up my 3 b-day packages! Thanks a lot that made our week and we have had plenty of junk to snack on. You guys did great picking out random stuff to put in there, everything seemed to be in there including the debit card. I still havnt gotten the opportunity to use it yet but I will check some money out on Thursday. I might take a fat chunk out of it just so I have it stashed waay and since there is no atms in infanta. I will try to wright back t your letters quickly. Thanks a lot for the package, I really appreciate the thought you all putt into it and all the$$$ cash you put into it. Packages are the best. I should get the other one on Thursday at zon con. I like the flip flops, the little ctr rings( I am wearing one on my pinkie), the books, th fooooooooooooood, and I am excited to listen to the cds. Man I don’t now what to talk about. The beach sounds nice. You guys our lucky to be beaching in cali. I am sourounde by beaches but just cant swim, ha. Enjoy your vacation and be safe. hey there family.

well its been a crazy last 48 hours. i ended up spending

all day in manila for our pday. and i was up all night last night. ha. so

most of the americans in the mission had to go to manila today in ordeer to

get our finger prints and renew our visas. it was fun. so it started

yesterday we left infanta at like 2 in the after noon in order to make it

all the way to san pablo t o stay there for the night. so for the second

sunday in a row we werent able to work. last week we had the temple

dedication. then i was kept up all night by imature missionaries, which was

fine and by 4 in the morning we were on a bus to manila. as we drove into

manila it was like driving into a whole new country son\me parts of maynila

are way nice. so we got all our fingerprinting done and then we headed over

to this huge mall called the mall of asia. its like seriously the 2nd

biggest mall in the world. that was just unreal and is way nicer than

anything youll see in america. its gynormous! we ate at wednesday. weird

huh! yeah and the whole time i was chillin with elder liddle and we were

just cracking up a storm. he is the best! then i litterally just got back

here to siniloan like 30 minutes ago and the travelings still arent over cuz

we have to head back to our are in infanta tomorrow early morning. so the

day was super crazy and fun but tire too. i havnt got sleep the other two

night before too cuz we didnt have electricity for 2 days stright and so

meeaning no fan at night meaning no sleep either ha. but manila was cool and

the nxt time i will be there is when i am on my way home, huh... just over a

year. so also today while chattin with els\der liddle i found out about my

best investigator ever over in lopez. RAMIR. he got married to his wife on

my bday and they both got baptized on saturday! how awesome is that??? that

seriously is the best and i am way happy they got baptized! he seriously is

the most legit investigator i have ever found and i seriously find more joy

in knowing that he got baptized more than any of my on baptisms! he is the

best and when you guys come to pick me up i am taking you to him first! ha!

yeah so its sorta a bummer i was there to witness it but its just so coool

to now that i found him and worked way hard at him and now he is baptized

and a member of the true church! baboom! also i found out that a lot of

peaple from my first area have now been baptized including the whole family

of the 21 year old kid i baptized erwin. cool eh! so that was some way

awesome. as for our work in infanta it wasnt to pretty this last week but no

worries we are working hard to bring the elect to baptism. oh i got the

packages today but i still havnt opened it yet and i am really hopping there

is a depit card in there to get some cash. ok well thanks a ton i am stoked

to open it later. i am beat and need to sleep. enjoy california family and

enjoy home dad, hope your fathers day wasnt to harsh on you. love you all.

Hello. How is everyone. Cody you’re a doofess, Don’t sneek out of the house at night and then lie about where you went. I should slap you! Ok well you best reread those letters I sent you again so you remember not to be a punk!. Ok well all is aight here in infant. Me and elder roxas are doing well. Hmm I don’t got a whole let to share this week. I will try to put something together right now. Ok so today we have just been kicken it and doing lots of chores like laundry and cleaning the house and running errands around the bayan. Oh and elder likes Frisbee so we went to some school and played Frisbee for a bit in the beeting heat!. That was nice. The work went alright this week. It was a bit slower but we did have 2 baptisms on Saturday. 2 youth. I spoke too much inglish this week which I don’t like but its ok its sorta a need right now with elder roxas but I am gonna punch a bit more of tagalog in his head starting tomorrow. This past week we concentrated on his a\bility to bear his testimony in tagalog and introduce himself and now I will have him try to teach more principles. We had an intense experience a few nights ago at one of or investigators. Our investigators son named lamuel(no joke)(he is about 29 yrs old) budge in on our lesson as I was just starting to teach the first vision and he starts like tryib\ng to debate with me. He ended up putting in some dvd of some pastor raging on mormons and how they aren’t Christian and believe in mormon and how joseph smith had 40 wives and just garbage like that. And I kept my cool cuz he just wanted me to get pissed. But inside I wanted to grab the guys head and curb check him and tell him what was up. Any ways I finally got this doofes to turn it off and tried to exlpian that that pastor was whack to the max but this lamuel guy wouldn’t shut up. He would ask me a question and I would start to talk and he would interrupt me right away and tell me to show him the evidence about mormon and joseph smith in the bible. Then elder ended up bearing his testimony in English and it was powerfull and brought the spirit back and I finish be testifying to lamuels parents (our real investigator) about the Truth and just totally ignoring the lamuel guy. I really felt the spirit just testifying of truth as me and elder bore our testimonies. We ended the lesson by singing “I am a child of god”. It was the most opposition I have faced in the field. It was a good experience. And if anything it probably helped us t\with our investigators there(lamuels parents) because they were just embarrassed by their son and how he showed absolutely no respect to us. If I wasn’t a missionae\ry I would of bashed this guy, ha. I guess I still need to work on my charity cuz I don’t got much more people lik that. I feel bad for him cuz he is sooo confused and the only way he will change is h\if he sees a miracle, ha hey well it could happen. I will see what happens. We go back tomorrow, ha. Hello everyone! I will start this letter by telling you that you might not haven’t received my letters yet cuz I sent them to the old house,… ha I cant remember the address to the current house. I sent them proly like 3 weeks ago so they should have showed up by now. I really hope you can go over them and get them. Sorry. So give me the your current address so I can send some letters. Ok well it seems like a lot happened this week so I could say a lot, ha. I guess I will now go to telling you all about transfers. Ok so it turns out that my NEW comp (notice the emphasis on new…ha. Youll know why in a sec) is way cool, and American and friken brand NEW! ha yeah his name is Elder Roxas (as in rojas) and he just got here in the pilipines on Wednesday and I am his trainer. Haha itscrazy. I am now with my fourth American comp and not to mention that this doesn’t yet speak tagalog, haha (well he does a little of coarse). But he is great and will learn. do you also know what is crazy, I am training,… I still feel like I am the newbie and greenie, but I guess I have been gone for a while. I am now coming up on a year in like 1 ½ months. It was weird tho I sorta felt it was coming and when I found out that elder agan was transferred I sorta thought I might be training an American. Man craziness my mission is like a roller coaster when it comes to comps. I was stoked tho when they announced we were comps ha. So elder roxas is from concord California and he is actually Filipino but he was born in the states and grew up there . his parents are both pinoy but they never spoke tagalog to their kids so he knows as much tagalog as I did when I got here(not a lot). He is way cool and we get along great and have many similarities. Its gonna be a lot of fun training him. I am already enjoying it even tho it’s a load of work. Ha. I have a hoarse voice right now cuz I have to do all the talking and teaching, ha. Its all good tho I am having a good time. In a way i feel very inadequette to be his trainer but at the same time I feel very ready. I guess that’s a good thing. Man its hard to comprehend. I see a lot of me in him when I was brand new. and also I have realized that my tagalog is actually kinda legit, or at least better than I give myself credit for, but I still got a but load of work to be as good as I want. Hey we are the first 2 americans to serve in infanta in forever ha. But he looks Filipino, ha cuz he really is. Today we were down in sinilaon and had a zone activity so that soaked up all our time but it was fun. We hiked to some crosses and I got sunburt. Hey there family. I hope ayou are kickin it and all is going well with the move. All is good here in lopez. The work really picked up this week and we found some good new investigators. We actually had one full work day without getting punted at all. It was good, but then the next day we gotted punted from all of our appointments. Haha but that’s alright. It was a good work week and me and elder liddle had a lot of fun. We did have a pretty dissapointing experience on Saturday night. We went over to our “cool” investigators house (ramir) and we found him there pretty drunk. Yeah it was real dissapointing and he was acteing like a completely different person. But he kept saying how he was sorry and how he hates the community he lives in cuz they just drag him into craap. He still has a huge desire to be baptized tho. Its gonna be a tough road to get him baptized but when he does it will be real special. We have some other real good progressing investigators that will be getting baptized in may. Hey well yesterday we taught one of our newr investigators. This guy is way nice and he had a stroke a whil back so he mumbles real bad when he speaks. Just imagine trying to speak to someone that had a stroke that mumbles and in a different language, ha. It was actually not hard tho, I just wanted to paint that picture in your head. Ok well the last bit of news I got is that I am already getting transferred this coming Friday. I just found out. Yeah I am atually sortta bumbed cuz I don’t want to leave this place yet. I have put a lot of work into this area and I was just getting close to seeing it all pay of in a few weeks. Darn it, there are 4 scheduled baptisms coming up and we will be giving like quite a few more baptismal dates this week. I really have some cool investigators here right now that I wont get to see baptized. (especialy ramir.) hey but as long as they get baptized, elder liddle will take care of them. Hey everyone. I hope all is well. I am good like usual. No worries here. How are you all? Our week was good. We were very busy with a lot of random stuff that got in the way of normal missionary work. On Monday we had zone confer5ence wich wiped out the whole work day cuz lopez is so far in the middle of now where, and we had no time to work . On Friday we had a service project wich slowed down work with our investigators but we got to serve so that’s good too. Then on Saturday and Sunday we had general conference. Wich saoked up some good working time too. We actually had to skip the Saturday afternoon session cuz we had missionary work to do! The reast of the work thas week was alright but when we tracted this week we got ulmost nothing but rejections, we didn’t really find to many great new investigators. We tried tracting a little bit in the bayan(more citier area) and the peaple there are poor but better of and actually live in cement homes and not just bamboo and wood with dirt floors. So anyways these peaple in the “bayans” are much more stuck up and sorta ruder and we had like not much success. I have been trying to find good areas to tract but everywhere has been tracted it seems and the places that havnt yet been tracted are far away. I am trying to be guided to some good tracting turf, ha. We taught our way cool investigator yesterday (ramir). He attended a session of conference and enjoyed it, getting to listen to the prophet, then we sorta caught him drinking at his neighbors house when we went to teach him last night, hmmm darn, he only took 2 drinks tho so he wasn’t even drunk. But its all good cuz he is really trying hard and knoews what he needs to do,it just might take some time. So now we will have to wait at least 4 more weeks till he can get babtized. He is still way awesome and legit tho. Hey so that’s the work here in lopez. All is going good. It still might be a while till I have another baptim tho. Its good tho. Oh and dad it is quite very hot now but not to bad. Its hotter in arizona in july, no doubt. The humidity just makes you sweat constatly here. I don’t mind it tho. Well I don’t really have much else. Hey

Its me again. How is everyone? I am well. The work went much better this week and we did some work. We still got punted some but we just worked around it and found a lot of new peaple to teach, so the week was succesfull. Right now got one of the coolest investigators. I have wrote a little bit about him already. His name is ramir mendoza. He is 27 yrs old. Man is he awesome. Yesterday was his 2^nd time coming to church, and it was fast and testimony meeting and yeah he born his testimony! He was seating next to us and all of a sudden he just got up and went to the stand. I was shoked and was wondering if that’s even allowed, ha. Man it was sweet! He actually introduced hgimself ans the newest member of the ward when HE got up there, ha, then He bore his testimony and was making everybody laugh while he did it talking about how he used to be a huge drinker and smoker and stuff and than he said how much his life has changed in like the last 3 weeks and how much happier he has been since we have been teaching him. Man he is great. He has made such huge and quick progress. We seriously only found him tracting like 3 ½ weeks ago. We gave him a baptismal gaol date like the 3^rd time teaching himm and then taught him about word of wisdom. He comes from a long background of cigarettes alchahol and druggs. He started smoking when he was 14 and he was in a band for like awhile. But he has been so willing to stop it all. Last week he told us when he gets a craving to smoke all he does is smell the cigarette. We actually just got done teaching him like 2 hrs ago and he has now thrown away his ash tray! Man he is legit. He is always thanking us for what we are doing for him. He has already gotten a quickly growing testimony about this gospel. Its so fun to teach him to and the spirit is always there to testify to him. He always shreads on his guitar and plays us songs. Yeah he is cool. I hope I am here to see him get baptized!

K so that’s about it for the work. I apreciatte the emails. I hope you all had a good easter Sunday. Here in the philippines it is called holy week and the whole week is like a holidy, especially on Friday. It’s a catholic thing and like 93+ % her are friggin catholic. Hey there family,

How is everything going? I am good. Me and elder liddle are having fun. Elder liddle is real cool and we laugh a lot! He is white and even taller then me, ha weird! He is like 6’3”. We are working hard even the the work has slowed down some the last two weeks. We have lost a good amount of investigators lately cuz it is now the start of summer break here so everyone is leaving and going places, it’s a bummer but no big deal. We have gotten punted so much by are appointments lately and people are always gone or they say they are too busy even tho they got nothing to do, ha. We even got no showed by our bishop for a dinner apointment on elder liddles bday even after we reminf\ded him about it 3 hours before. Ha it was funny but we made up for by buying ourselves some icecream. Ha. But the work is still good, we just need to tract more this week and find the elect. Right now we have this one 20 yr old investigator that we cant get to progress cuz he cant read. He has come to church a butt load and stopee drinking and stuff but he cant do his reading assignments and cant really grasp the lessons and fully understand them. I guess he had a bad sickness when he was younger that effected his learning ability. So we decided that instead of just trying to teach him stuff he is having a hard time understanding we would teach him how to read. Its really hard to teach him cuz he really has a hard time reading. We started with the vowels this past week. We will see how that goes. Also one of our way awesome investigators is progressing great but we just found out that he isn’t married yet so now we have to figure out how to deal with that and get them married. The marriage stuff is a big problem here in the Philippines. We should be able to work it out tho and get him married and then baptized. Nothing else really I gots to say. Oh but hey something crazy… I got my mission call over a year ago already, hha. How fast does time fly? Fast for me, its wack! I can totally remember how awesome it was getting my mission call and finding out I was coming here. It was so cool, wow and now I am here doing the work trying my best to be all I can. That was a way fun time getting my call and the for months after getting ready to go. Cody you best get ready it will come quick! Ok so its been a good week I guess. Me and elder liddle are having some fun. We worked hard this week but got a decent amount of rejection. Well not a lot of rejection but a lot of punts. (punts= getting no showed). Ha we had one day we refer to as “palpak day” ha failure day. It wasn’t that bad but we got punted quite a few times, ha. Hey but we still made it fun. Let me give a little run down(this will be my story for the week.) so wee were working in this barangay called bocboc and we had a real good schedule planned out. We noticed a sabong(cockfight) going on and joked that proly all our investigators Would be there and not at home for us to teach them. Turns out that that is what happened. None of our investigators were home. Not even our back ups, ha. Thyen we walked past some dumb aso(dog) and had a good laugh at it as it tried to run away from us even tho it was attached to a leash nailed int to the ground. It was running around in circles and almost ripping off its head as it ran out of leash, haha. Crack up. Ha then we visited a less active as a backup and I showed them my ctr ring and asked what it ment and the lady said “cook the rice” ha I couldn’t stop laughing! Ha. Then we flew a kite in the middle of a rice field for like 5 minutes with somer kids. Then we were in this area we call “baby factory” cuz theres a bagillion bata(kids) there. And some grirl was standing on a stool and kept waking her hand against my neck measureing herself saying “hanggang dito,hanggang dito” (until here) asd I was scheduling an appointment. Yeah it was hilarious also. Then we dropped by one of our way cool investigato0rs (ramir) just to fallow up and he was jamming on his guitar and played us some good music for like five minutes. Then the day ended at one of our stubborn investigatorsa houses and it was cool cuz I saw a huge change in him and he went from almost getting dropped to now we will proly give him a baptismal date this week. Yeah so that was my palpak day, just cuz we got punted from a lot of appiointments but at the same time it was a super fun day cuz we were able to use our sense of humor. So we worked real hard this week and had like 6 peaple we thoyght forsure would be at church yesterday but we ended up having none! Ugh that’s my first week not having one investagator at church! Darn!. Oh and we got some way cool investigator right now named ramir Mendoza. We found him like a week and half ago and he is progressing real well. He already excepted a baptismal gaol date. He is lagit and hopfully coninuest to progress. Ok so that’s the update for the week. Sorry if stuff I said is confusing, I write these fast. Hey well I love you all and glad I got to see some pics. Hey there everyone!

How is it all going? I am still keeping it real here in lopez. All is well. I hope you are all good also. Mom and dad, happy aniversery. I hope it was fun and you were able to relax. Ok so I had another crazy experience at transfers this week. Transfer meeting is whackness. Ha . it’s a long story but I will try to keep it easy. So I got a new pinoy comp at the transfer meeting. I don’t even remember his name, you will kno0w why in a sec. so about 45 minutes after the transfer meeting at the mission home I found out that my brand new companion was getting sent home, hmm I have no clue why, but then I had a short little talk with president Anderson in his office and he told me that I was getting a new comp, elder liddle. Ha yes I also new this elder in the mtc. He is one batch ahead of me so he is one transfer longer in the mission than me. Ha and yes he is white too. Ha this is my third white/American comp in the field, I have only gotten one pinoy. Ha how am I suppose to learn tagalog? Ha ha jk. The Americans are fun and my tagalong is fine, it would just get better with Filipinos as my comps. But I got nothing to complain about. Elder liddle is way cool and this will be another real fun transfer. Ha. Ok so that’s that. The work has been good, its been a tad bit hectic the last few days but no worries. We have some new good investigators but not any way legit ones.last transfer was real good and might be one of the funnest of my whole mission. We worked real hard and I felt like i grew as a missionary. But Much more to work on still!I don’t got much else to say but I will tell one funny/crazy story. So last week on Tuesday night we were doing a member visit cuz elder Bernard wanted to say bye to this family, the segui family. We went ther and as we were about to start the lesson when we heard some wacko throwin a fit outside. I looked outside and there was some way drunk, fat, short pinoy throwin a tantrum. He was trying to fight some other drunk guy. This other drunk guy was trying to charge at him with a fatty “itak” (machette like big knife thingy) . ha it was crazy. So then the fat one continues his fit by throwing stuff at this house, ha. Then the pulis came. What did they do? Nothing at all. Ha what pansies, they watched the guy throw stuff at this house then left 5 minutes later. Ha. I really wanted to punch the guy, ha but I cant so we just went back inside, had our lesson and then ate some snails and jackfruit. Ha it was a fun night. So that’s my story for the week. Mom don’t worry, I am still safe, hahaha! As for pday today. We played some bball earlier and I sweated like no other then I did a bunch of wash for like 3 hrs, ha yeah fun! I will try to maybe write a letter later. Hey did you get Stanley? Hey well time is low for me. I hope you all have a friken ridonkulous week and all goes good! Oy, oy, oy!

Kamusta kayo! Syiempre ayos lang dito sa lopez! Thanks for the on time emails this week. That is very appreciated. Ok so I will start by talking about the tsunami thingy. Well actually there isn’t much to say about that cuz I had no clue there was a tsunami and knew nothing about such a thing, haha. I am proly about a 10 minute walk fro9m the beach and I didn’t notice anything at all, so if all you guys didn’t say stuff about a tsunami I would have no idea. So obviously I am safe and fine. So ma about the weather. Its now summer so its pretty hot. I havnt seen rain in months now, its weird, ha. But its still as green as ever. Everyone has been harvesting their rice lately so we always get excuses like “nasa linang siya” ( hes in the fields) when we try to teach our investigators! lately lots of kids have been playing with “saranggola” (kites) and a group of these little kids had their kite like a bagillion feet in the air. Like no joke you couldn’t see it at all. They had it attached to some like sewing string and I pulled on this string for a good 5 minutes until we could could see the kite, ha it was awesome. Also the same day a little girl sang “I wish you a merry Christmas” to us but made here oWn lyrics and was saying “I wish you an americano” haha it was hilarious! Man the little kids here are awesome! So dad said he wanted me to tell a story each week but I don’t really ever have any good storys but I will tell you about some catholic “lola” (grandma) that we tracted last week. So we tracted this lady and she was super nice to us and friendly and talkative and then we told her we wanted to share a little message real quick, so she said ok willingly. Then as soon as we mentioned that we were “mormons” she she got real cold and wouldn’t let us teach her, ha. Haha “matigas ang ulo niya” (hard headed). She went from super nice to not even willing to shake my hand in one second, haha. Oh one little fact, the amount of dorrs I have had shut in my face= 1. Ha it was in my last area and some way old lady got up slowly off her souffa and very slooowly shut her door when we were trying to talk to here, ha that was hilarious and I was stoked to be able to say that I had finally got a door shut in my face haha. Ha ok so I had a baptism this past saterday so of course that was awesome. It was a 17 year old girl named mary ann. She is really cool and has a great testimony of the church. She will make a great member. Ha elder Bernard baptized her. It was hilarious when he dunked her in the water cuz he like slammed her into the water. Ha it was a good laugh. I felt the spirit as she bore her testimony after. Oh ma about the debit card. I don’t know what you would need to do but proly get me a new account set up and just send me a new card throught the mail. I got about 5000 spare pesos left so theres no huge hurry. Ok well the week has been good for me and am enjoying the work. We had a mission tour this week so at zone con we got to hear from elder ko of the 70. that was cool. here in lopez the adventure continues with me and elder bernard, We continue to work ourselves into the ground daily, ha jk but we do work Hard! And are have some decent progress with the investigators, not as much as we would like but its good. Its been fun. I amsorry to hear that you guys had another tough week. That’s no good but I hope it all turns around quickly. Just keep it going and I will continue to pray! I love you all very much and gratefull for everyone of you. Keep it on the upside!

Hey there family.

Its elder perry again. How is it all going with yous? Its going good for me! Happy valintines day! I hope you all had a kickin valintines day, mine was legit, ha! Hey so thanks for the package, I got it super quick. It only took like 2 weeks maybe at the most. Thanks bunches! IO really am enjoying it all. I like the photo album the best. But you should send me some like recent pics too some time and I will add those to the album. Thanks for the fudge ma, its bomb! Oh and “Stanley” I have already gotten a few cool pics with him, we were chillin at a waterfall earlier today and he has been working with us the last few days, ha. He is a little missionary. When should I send Him back? Thanks for everything in it, its all good, you piced out like all my favorite candies too. And of course the letters. Oh and I got drawings from bray and rylie a few weeks ago, tell them Salamat! Oh but on one of the letters said something about CTR rings and a white bracelet but those weren’t in there so I figured you forgot to add them in or something. Send them cuz I could give those away.

Ok so now to the work. Its been real good this week. Dad is right, we have been bustin!, here in lopez. We had a way fun week and work our buts off. This was deffinetly my most productive week so for as in the amount of work we did and our numbers were pretty high but still can get much better. We taught quite a bit. And the last few day we have been finding some way kool investigators. Like almost everyone we have been talking too has a pretty good interest or seems like they have been prepared in some way. Its kool to see what the lord can do with the work when he gets an obedient hard working companionship, Even if they got some pretty jacked tagalog, ha. Its still hard to get a lot off our investigators to come to church tho. It’s a pain in the butt. The church here in lopez is like a 10 min trike ride away and a lot of people aren’t wanting to pay for that, they are poor, ha. That’s sorta a little “hadlang” (obstacle) for us right now. But we will figure that out. We worked with one of our aps on Saturday and he says that our tagalog is way good for how young we still are in the mission and that we are doing way good, but I don’t believe him, haha. Ok so its been a pretty good week. But I am running out of stuff to bore yous with. I will get going. Thanks agin for all the support and the sweet package. Hello people.

How is it all going? Sounds like things are just alright. I hope so! Things for me have been good. It was a good week and we were pretty busy. Its been fun working with one of my buds from the mtc. Its been a lot of work tho cuz I got to speak like way more and just more responsibility now that we are two newbs as a companionship. Its way cool tho and we are having a bunch of fun but are doing some bomb work at the same time! Its funny when you got two Americans as comps and you gotta try your best to know tagalog. Its good tho, are tagalog is alright and aint slowin us down. I have been pretty beat tho this last week, by the time we get home I just want to go to bed, ha. Sige so about my new area and stuff here in Lopez 1st ward. Its been sorta weird in a way different area and enviorment. I am in an apartment with 5 other elders an\d itrs tiny, ha. Most of them are American so I hear and speak more English then I would like too buts its good. My area is A lot different them my last cuz its lmore city and my last area was just a bayan. Its cool tho here in lopez and it is more mountainy and theres even more palm trees than myt last area, ha. Its been way hot here tho. Its like the start of summer and this is one of the hottest areas in the mission I heard. We balled it up this morning and was drenched in sweat, ha! (b-ball). No worries tho, I don’t mind. The ward here is greatr and muh bigger. We meat in a stake center so its even got aircon in the sacrament rooM. The building is much bigger than in pila. The members are super cool and much more. Right now we got a good amount of investigators. Theres proly about 9 feel good about and hopefully they will all have baptismal dates by the end of the week. We got 5 investigators with dates right now. The work is good. Ok so that’s whats up!

FINALLY GOT TRANSFERED

WoW, I will start this email by letting you know that I am still in quite a bit of shock from what happened at transfers, haha. Man it is sorta hard to comprehend, ha. K well anyway, I got transferred on Friday. I am now about 6 hrs away from the mission home in my 2nd area in Lopez, Quezon. Its like the farthest area away from the misson home except for the islands. Hey but that’s not even the crazy part. My new companion is Elder Bernard, (this is the crazy part), yeah he is from my batch. We were in the same class in the mtc and came here to the philippines together. That means we have both only been here for just over 4 months in the field. How weird is that. He is still in his first area and we are co junior companions. Hmmm well you might be thinking that could be a problem cuz we both know very little tagalog , yeah your right! Haha, I cant believe it, president Anderson is crazy, but sooo smart at the same time! Haha. I Cnt even explain how shocked we both have been, but I am soo STOKED at the same time. We are so similar in many ways, especially the way we think about missionary work and the way we are her to serve the Lord and be the best missionaries we can be. We were both close in the mtc and always talked how it would be way cool to be comps in the field, but who knew it would be so soon,ha! Man things have changed a ton for me and I have had a bunch of fun the last two days. MY new are is way tight too, there were over 80 members at church yesterday, (compared to like 30 last wk in pila), the members are way nice and the bishop is legit. Are teaching has actually been pretty darn good the last two days and we should be fine( as long as you guys pray super hard for us!!!). We already have 4 baptismal dates that we just gave away last night. ( that’s more than I had all last transfer in pila). This is gonna be challenge in many ways but its gonna be so fun at the same time. (((This is Elder Bernard and I love your son and or brother. He is pretty much like the coolest person ever and we are going to rock this bayan))) WE are both so ecxited to do some serious work here in lopez. We are gonna make this time that we have together count and DO WORK! ( it will most likely only last one transferr) This is gonna be an EPIC journey in the service of the lord! I am seriouslu7 soo gratefull for this opportunity to work side by side with my man elder Bernard, we will tear this place apart.

As for you guys, thanks for all your emails, prayers and all you do. I am glad to hear good things from your emails this week. It seems like you have had some real answers to prayers and things are turning aroung a bit. Things feal that way for me too this week. I have felt a huge difference in my mission the last few days. Continue to do what you are doing and make decisions with the lord and rely on him. I will continue to pray for you all like super hard. Me and elder need prayers too. We are up to a big task and we both feal so young in the mission still, but we are truly looking to be very succesfull with the help of the lord. I looked forward to the packages. Hello again. How are all of you? What is new? I am doing good! But not much new for me. Same old stuff. Its fun tho. Actually this week was a tiny different cuz one of the areas right next to my area got closed down in the middle of transfers and the elders there got pulled out. The area had just reopened last transfer after being closed for over like 8 years. There was some safety problems nxt to the elders apartment so as soon as president found out he pulled the elders out. So anyway we have had to pick up the work there again so we have been pretty busy! They had 3 investigators with baptismal dates so we have picked those up and continue with them so we are swamped now. Ha its good tho, to bad the other elders got pulled out, the were doing work ovewr there. So as for pila we gstill only got one investigator with a baptism date. Its been hard to get most our investigaters to progress this whole transfer. We still got to step it up! Ha. So the girl that has the baptismal date for the 31 of jan. its a weird situation cuz we have to get her and her husband “lagally” married before her baptism so that’s sorta in the way but she is very rteady for baptism. That’s probably the biggest problem here in the pilipinas. Marriage situations. Its kinda lame. The pilipinas is the only country in the world where divorce is ilegall. Sayang, it causes a lot of problems with progressing investigators. So today we just get it today and ran some errands and chores and I wrote mom a birthday letter. I was planning on writing a bunch of lettrers but just not enough time, ha. So I am sending that letter and some pics on a cd this week. Hoy! I forgot to tell grandma thanks for the package last week! Thanks grandma! The goodies were delicious! You hooked me up! Oh and the American money, ha. Havnet seen that stuff for a while. Just colorfull Pilipino pesos! Swo grandma I sent you a letter finally last week so look for that in a week or two. Mom and brayden thanks for the emails! Sorry for never emailing you a personal email. I enjoy your emails and wish I could spend more time answering your questions. Ok so mom a few I deas for the package. Something I really want and need. A small little leatherman folding type pocket knife with PLIERS on it. Theres proly one lying around the house. Some cool postcard like jesus pictures from like deseret book, by simon dewey due and greg olsen. I want to put them on my walls. (oh before I forget, whats skylars email address? I havnt heard from him in ages)(oh and tell regan I wrote her a long time ago and am still waiting for a reply_ so there will be no letters till I get a response, ha, no joke) so next on the list, beef jerky! Man I love that stuff! And last thing that always makes me happy,,, food! Just any snack or junck food, and candy. I really cant think of anything else. Ok well time is low. Hello everyone. Its me again. Not much new for me here in pila. How have you been? I am aight. So new years was crazy here. I have never seen so many fireworks in my life. On new years eve I w3ent to bed at like 10:30 but was quickly awackend by a storm of explosions at 11;30. it was insane. By 12 midnight it was going OFF, no joke. It was like friggen world war 3! Every direction I looked there were fireworkd exploding in the air. It was soo kool! Cody would have loved it. It was so loud. It was like every one had their on real fireworks. Ha it was hard to get back to sleep. Ok so that’s that. I really don’t have much to say this email. Oh I got your package but not grandmas yet. Thanks a ton. It was awesome! I thought there was gonna be a picture album tho, ha and no letters from mom ans\d dad, but I figure thase will come in the nxt package. Ok so thanks for the package. Oh I gave a couple of those hair thingies to that girl from my picture and her older sister rhika mae(one of my converts) they really were excited and liked them. Oh mom I liked the family Christmas pic you uploaded. I tried to print it but couldn’t. next package send some pictures from like Christmas and stuff, and up to date photos. That would be kool so I cab\n see changes. Man I wish I could tell you guys some super sweet missionary stories or kool spiritual stuff but I just haven’t had any super kool experiences yet. The mission is a little weird for me, I cant explain it, its like I am in some weird funk. So the work lately has been a little bit slower but its all good. I am not sure if I will see another baptism here in pila. I guess it depends on how much longer I am here, haha! Hmmm so nothing else really. Sorry for leaving you hanging with the email this week. CHRISTMAS

Hey hey hey, hohoho.

Chrismas was good for me cuz I was able to talk to you all. It was good to hear all your voices again. I hope your guyses Christmas was just straight up ridonkulous kahit konteng pera, haha. I wish I could of called you Christmas night too to see what you all got from santa and to see how they day went. Next year I think I will do that. Time flew by way to quick talking to you guys. We almost talked for 3 hrs but it felt like 30 minutes, theres just way to much to catch up on after 5 months, huh. For mothers day I think I will take more adventage of the 0 time limit cuz a lot of other missionaries talke a lot longer than me, ha oh well it was enough. Oh and sorry I wasn’t able to email on Christmas, we were busy like always, ha. So fter I talked to you on Christmas we had the branch Christmas party which was sorta boring, then we had an appointment at a members house at night. I was planning on working more at night but time went by way to quick. Christmas eve was a real good day for me and was a lot of fun. We worked hard and I tied all our lessons into the Christmas story and shared the first presidency Christmas message from the friend. It was fun and the whole week was funner cuz I used Christmas in everything when we talked to people and tied everything into Christmas which made it funner and not the same old stuff. Swithed it up. I had a way kool experience on Christmas eve on or last visit. I don’t have time to explain it but I was able to have a Real Christmas experience and truly help someone in need. It was kool cuz the lord really put me where he wanted me to be and helped one of his children through me. It was awesome cuz the spirit told me what I needed to do and I knew that I was an instrument in the lords hand. Lets just say that it was kool. Maybe next week I will give more details if you want. So the Christmas season was not the same for me this year and it didn’t really feel like Christmas no matter how hard I tried but still I was able to enjoy it in a different way and kahit walang pamilya. So it sounds like you all had a good Christmas from chantell and moms email. I am sure you did, how could you not, Christmas is the best! Hey BRAYDEN, dude, my main man, lil bro, lil G, Happy Birthday! Ha I don’t even know how old you are, I think 7, but I hope you hve a straight dopage b-day! Keep it real for me and have fun. Sige so yesterday I was able to baptize an awesome 18 year old girl named Annie. She is awesome andi really enjoyed teaching her and seeing her desire to join the true church grow with every visit. She is already talking about serving a mission. Saweet! Today we had a decent pday. I got to play a little bball for the first time since a while. And in the process I got some fatty blisters on the bottom of my feet and one of them tore open, haha! I am bone head cuz I was ballin bare foot, cuz my flip flops tore the other day( I hope you sent some news ones in the package). But its no big deal it will just be a pain to walk tomarrow ha. Oh and by the way I will proly get the packages on Wednesday at zone interviews. Ok well I gots to get going. It was great talking to you. Masaganang bagong taon. hey. ok so i didnt know this till like 2 days ago but it is not p-day for us today. our pday is only on christmas. i thought we got pday today and then christmas off too but i guess i was in a really deep dream, not a chance! HA. so this is just a quick email to you guys to let you know how i will call you, even tho i still aint sure. so i really am not sure how we are suppose to do it cuz nobody ever told us and nobody i ask seems to have a clue. so i went to buy a calling card earlier today but the peaple are sorta retarrted so they dont even know how the calling cards work. ha. but i will figure it out. so i am gonna go over to a members house chrictmas morning at around 9 am(so i think 6 pm christmas eve for you) and just use their cell phone or land line. i am gonna try to get like 2 hr worth of calling cards. so i will call you around 9:30 am christmas morning and 6:30 pm christmas eve for you all. i hope that is alright and doesnt mess up with your christmas eve schedule. i was gonna do it the way dad said but i really didnt have time to go buy a phone, and they cost like 600 peso which isnt really a whole lot in american but i didnt have time. chantell i got your packages and they are sitting under my tree, i am waiting till christmas. thanks. i might get the family package but who knows, if not its no big dael. i hope you guys get mine soon. i sent 2. so if you dont get a call right away it proly means my comp is making us late again. or the way i was trying didnt work. but i will get a hold of you sooner or later so just be ready. i am not sure if i know my debit card # anymore so if you could let me know that when i call, that would be good but i got plenty of mony so i dont really need to withdraw any out of my account. be ready to ask me questiond on christmas eve. i am way stoked to talk to you all. i hope you all have a really good christmas week and enjoy the christmas season. be happy and joyfull, its CHRISTMaS! i miss you all and love yah tons. have fun. maligayang pasko and masaganang bagong taon! heres 2 good scrips. HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Hoy! How you all doing? I am good. Happy thanksgiving. They don’t celebrate that here so it will be a regular work day for me. But its all good. I will still be thankfull, ha. I have been blessed a lot, I know that. Especially with such an awesome FAMILY. And with this opportunity to be serving a mission here in the Philippines, even getting pounded by tagalog is a blessing, haha. So my tagalog is aight. Not really tho, but i can teach alright at this point and that’s the most important part, As long as the spirit kicks in, ha. Thanks for all the prayers. Continue to pray for me tho. Especially with the wika(language). So new reguest with pasko(christmas) package. Some jesus stickers so I can put them on letters to you guys so the letters don’t get jacked. And a book The Pocket Reference Book For Missionaries by Adrian parker call jr. I gave mine away to one of my new converts. Maybe 2 of them cuz my comp wants one too.

Ok but that stuff don’t matter. So this week was pretty good. I continue to get flustered and a bit frustrated sometimes but I am really trying to work on my patience, faith, and hope. Those emails frome you three helped a bunch and I read them several times each day if I start to get down and they always bring me back up. We continued to teach the first lesson a lot. I had my third baptism on satuday. So that was great. His name is Erwin and he is a stud. He will continue to be a real strong member! He easily gave up alchohal to be baptized so it was cool to see him willingly make the change. Everything just made sense to him and he new the church was true from the beginning. We don’t have any baptism dates right now tho cuz its hard to get everyone to come to church. But we are finding a lot of good people. K so now I will try to answer questions from each letter.

MOM- thanks for all the info on whats going on. So like you’ve been busy. Thanks for the prayers. Tell grandma I say hello and I miss her too. Tell cody he doesn’t need a girlfriend! Tell rylie I miss her MORE! Tell haley she needs to better in school. Tell chantell thanks for updating my blog. We don’t tracted a ton cuz we usually have a lot of appointments but we have trated more the last two weeks. We take jeepnies and trikes when we have to go far, but we mostly walk. Sup tropa pits (my crew). Hows it all doing. Its all good over here in paradise. Ha you guys are all really missing out on all the beauty over here. Ha suckers, maybe someday! Crud I aint got a whole lot to talk about. It was a good week. My new comp is way good! I am feeling much better. And thanks for the emails of comfort, ma pa and tell. They were very encouraging. Ha ma that poem is hilarious. I don’t want everyone to think I am in misery tho, haha . I am kool. if they want to write me they will write, if not that’s aight too. Ha thanks for the help with that tho. Ha I don’t have a whole lot of time to write back tho. Thanks for the email ma, I realy enjoyed it. Frick dad that’s crazy you have lost 35 lbs. is that even healthy, ha joke. That’s crazy, you must be a twigg. Send me a pick! Ma how much have yo lost now? And tell? Dad thanks for the email too, it was good. Tell me more sories about your mission if you want, I would like to hear what it was like. I wonder a lot how much different each mission is in the world. So that’s all I could think of. I hope it helps. Ok so now I will talk a bit about the work here in pila. I really enjoy my new comp. he is straight up Pilipino and so quite and doesn’t speak inglish, ha so I am really enjoying working with him. He is a hard worker too so that’s awesome! Complete opposite than my last comp. we did a ton of finding this last week so we taught the 1st lesson a ton. I feel pretty comfortable teaching that now. Just not the way I want to be able to fully expand on it yet. Nothing really great happened, just the same old missionary work. We got an awesome investigator whose baptism is this Saturday so I am way excited for him. His is the one that got postponed a few weeks ago but he is so ready and he is legit. His name is Erwin and he is 21. So he will be the third for me. I really want to send you some pics of my last baptisms but I wont have time today. Maybe nxt week. I am gonna try to put some stuff together for a lil Christmas package for you guys. Anything you guys want? Ha. So anything you guys need for me? I continue to pray for you guys and be obedient in order to help bless you guys but that’s about all I can do for you. Ha. Sup sup sup! Hows it all going in az?

Ok so I aint gonna lie, its been a tough last few days. I cant explain it, its weird. Its true tho, the mission definetly has ups and downs. But I am perfectly fine, haha. Just a rough patch. So I have figured out that the hardest part is becaming that missionary I see myself being, and the missionary I am needed to be, and the one I expect to be. My desire is so strong, but it takes a lot of work to get there and I gues it talks time. The learning curve is steep when your trying to be that missionary in a different language, ha. I just really care a lot about this work and when you care, I have found out, that makes it hard. If you really care about this work and about becoming the best missionary you can be, its gonna be hard. Ok so theres my little speil. soabout this past week. I got a new comp on Friday at transfers, so I am stoked about that. His name is elder estacio. He is a Filipino from upper Luzon. He is real cool and a hard worker so I am really happy to have a completely opposite companion. I have barely heard him speak inglish. I still aint sure if he knows it, haha. But if I say something to him in inglish he seems to understand, ha. So I am pretty sure my tagalong will get a lot better this transfer. A lot of the time I cant understand him tho. Mostly just because he talks freakin super quite, its sorta annoying but it will help me work on my patience and my listening skills. I am way ecxited to be working with him. I am sorta gonna consider him my real trainer cuz my other one wasn’t the best. He was pasaway. Ok so what else… idont know. So pday today has been boring. Usually we have zone activities but not today. We cleaned the apartment this morning.

Oh frick, thanks for the letters. I got the package at transfers. Thanks everyone. I enjoyed reading them all and loved the pictures. Send me more, haha. Oh I got one form regan and blue grndama too. Tell them I will send them letters one I get time, after I get time to write yours first. I still haven’t heard from many of my friends so tell them it would be nice to hear from them, ha. They know who they are, haha. Tell all my friends I say hi. All else i can say is that I miss you guys a whole lot. It sorta hit me this last week how much I really miss being with my family. Sometimes it can get lonely here especially when your th only white guy around and that barely knows tagalong, haha. Ok so I best be rolling, time is low, I got 3 appointments letter tonight. Sorry I didn’t email on time this week. We had no tyime on p-day so we are doing it now. So tthis is my language sudy for the day ha. So whats cracking back at the pad? Soumds like you all had a fun week and a good Halloween. I want tio know what you all dressed up as. That’s cool you won the contest mom, ha too bad for haley ha. Ok so I sent you a package like a week and a half ago with some letters and a cd with pics on it. I bet you wont get it for at least another week. I ahvent gotten your letters yet. I am hoping I get them at transfers this Friday! Was it a package or just letters and when didyou send it? Ok so last week was good. I got my first baptisms onh Sunday. Woohoo. It was awesome. We had 3 scheduled but one of them we had to postpone for 3 more weeks cuz he drank a few weeks ago. But I am glad that he told the zl in th interview, it just shows that he is for real about getting baptized and wants to do it the right way. His name is Erwin and he is 21. I feel real good that everything will work out fior him. So the tw0 that were baptized were Charles (40somthin) and rhika mae(11). They both are real good converts. I baptized Rhikamae and elder etcitty, charles. It was so cool. It was awesome to hear both their testimonies after the baptism. Rhika maes was short but you could really tell that she has a real testimony of the truth of this gospel. Charles is gonna be a super strong member and he has truly been prepared by the lord and just knows its true. Even with opposition from friends and giving up coffee( which is hard here) he was so willing, cuz he knows its true. So that was a great experience sunday, and I am excited to have many more like that.

So aobut Halloween. Its way different her. Its like for 3 days and its called All Souls Day, I think. They have these crazy wack cemitaries here that are all above the groung and are sorta like their on memorial set up thing. And during the Halloween weekend everyone visits their desieced relative at night with laods of candles. So onbt Saturday andf Sunday wer had curfews at 6pm. I wore that star wars tie from bro holt on Halloween, it was saweet! Ha . oh and I got to go on splits with th zl on Saturday. Its fun to go on splits. Everytime I am on splits I feel like I am a better missionary. Ha the lessons are different when you are teaching with someone that is trying hard to be a good missionary. So splits were real good and we had some good lessonsw. So I have really been hopimg that elder etcitty would be tranfered this week and I would get a new comp but than yesterday we found out that he wasn’t. so I was a bit disappointed… but then he came up with some weird story cuz he really wanted to get tranfered and he enderd up talking to the AP’s so now he is getting transfgerred. Ha it’s a long story, and the only important part is that he is getting transferred. Ha so I am glad about that. He was a fun comp but just the kind of missionary I want to be companions for 6 more weeks. So I am looking forward to tranfers on fri and am hoping for the best. I and it think I might get some letters from you at tranfers too. So that’s the news here and icontinue to do my best and trying hard to improve in tagalog. Oh and there was a bad bagio this week. But I am safe and nothing bad happened so don’t worry about it. K so continue to email and write me. I miss you guys and hope you are doing good. Love you all. So no super sweet news this week! thanks for the email dad and cody. the email might not be as long cuz i dont have any questions from you guys to respond to, but i will try to make it good. so once again i am emailing you late cuz we had an activity at the stake center. its like 930 pm here and i should be back to my appt by now, oops. but i figure i better email so we dont have any problems, ha mom. hmmm so i went on splits for half a day this past week. it was fun. me and the other elder are both brand new missionaries but we got done some mad work together. we got more work done in 3 hrs together than i usually do in a dhole day, ha. it was real cool. i really hope i get a pilipino comp at transfers in less than 2 weeks. and i hope for a comp that is a hard worker5! we also had zone conference this past week. we had it done at the san pablo stake center which is about 1 hr away. it was goods stuff. pres anderson is way cool, and had some good stuff to say. oh i sent you guys that little package. bhut i wasnt able to send it till friday tho, my bad. so there are some letters in that and a cd with photos on it. the post office said it would take 6 days to get to you, but that is bull. you will probably get it in a few weeks if your lucky. oh tell sis maxwell thanks for me, i got a small package from her this past week. she said jackson sent in his papers, thats dope. lemme know where he is headed. frick, i dont know what else. oh crap... mom i am still safe haha. almost frogot that important detaqil :) oh earlier today one of our investigators got married! his wife is a member and they got married in order for him to be babtized. cool, eh? so his baptism is this sunday. we also have a 21 yr old lalaki getting babptized on sunday, named erwin, he is a studd. and one more. a 11 yr old girl named rikha mae. she is awesome too. oh and the first guy is named charles. so i should have my first three baptisms this week so i am way stoked and looking forward to that. i hope every rolls smoothly this week. ok my time is running low. so love ya all. hope all continues to be well and everything is getting good. my language is getting better.... so slowly, hahaha. good luck with the next weeki. i continue to pray for you. remember how much i love and miss you all. lata! love ya mom, hope you feel better.

I'm 100% Healthy so far!

Hey hey hey! Hows it kickin? It was a good week. Got some good work done. I am glad to hear that you were pleased with the email last week. Ha. This one might not be quite as long the. We’ll see. Ok so mom just so you know, I am still safe. Haha, obviously cuz I am typing this. Nothing bad happened this week. No storm so don’t worry. But there was a black out earlier so a lot of electricity went out but that is normal. Oh and by the way it wasn’t a river that I was walking through with the floating dead dogs. It was the street and the water was up to my chest. But that was 3 weeks ago and it was in santa cruz, not my area.

This week was good. Last pday we went to taytay falls and they were way cool. I think I sent a pic. The week went by way fast. We had interviews with president Anderson and that was real good. That guy is awesome and so fun. His wife is way nice too. We had some good work and we have 3 real great investers scheduled to be baptized on Halloween. I am real excited for that. We have a few other cooll progressing investigators too. I wish we had more but we had 0 investigators when I got here. Is real good when you get investigators who just understand this gospel. I got to give a few blessing this week to members wich was good stuff. We finally watched conference on Sunday but only two sessions. The sat. morn and sun. morn. I don’t know why like that but it was real good conference, at least what I saw. Today we didn’t really do anything exciting today. Just some errands, chores and hung out and played some games with the zone in santa cruz. My comp is cool and fun but isn’t the best at training, haha. He doesn’t really hel p with the language and I try to get him to speak tagalong lang to me but he only speak ingles which is probably one reason I aint as good in the language yet, cuz I don’t speak it as much as I should. Tracting is fun when you find a good area, some palces we go it just doesn’t feel right and then other places people get it better. But we don’t tract all that much. Only when we get pun ted from appointments. We are usually too busy to tract which is very good. But I wish we could tract more. Its fun to just get to know people and open them up to the gospel.

I don’t have a mission mom so I don’t know what she is talking about. Our apartment is upstairs. Its pretty decent. I have felt 100 percent healthy. I havnt been sick at all yet. I hope it stays that way. The people here are super nice. they all want to talk to me and I like to have fun with them and try to talk to them if they yell something out to me. Yes thay are short. I tower over them. Ha. They all love to see me dunk it. They are in awww when they see me slam it. Sounds like you all had a goodweek. Thanks chantell for the blog. I cant look at it tho. Bawal. Jk I cant but I did anyway earlier. Just this once tho. I am stoked for the package. I will proly get it at transfers on nov 6 cuz that’s when we go to the mission home and they don’t send the packages strasight to us. I think the best way to send stuff is through like fed ex or us postal service. So I spent a lot of time this morning writing you all letters so I will send those this week along with a disk with my pictures. I hope you will get them. I am bummed I missed out on all the fun this week but its all good, I proly had almost as much fun as you guys, ha.

Family!

How is the life? The mission life is legit! But very crazy, ha. Ok so mom sorry for such short emails. last week my long email got deleted , I swear> ha. And I haven’t emailed any friends s all my email time(1hr) is spent on the family! Oh and remember that I suck at typing so I am super sloooow! Ha but I will try to do better cfrom now on. Its hard tho cuz I don’t ever know what to say and I forget everything that happened during the week. But its good when you send me questions, so I will answer all those first. Ok so about the storm thingy. All it is is like a frickin bad monsoon storm,.. without lighting! I promise you that its not even bad. It happened like my 3rd day in the field. I don’t know what you’ve been hearing from the news and all but it wasn’t even bad! So don’t worry, the only effect I have seen is peoples houses have been flooded so there are lots of people living at the churches and we do a lot of service for them there. So take a friggen chill pill and don’t worry about it . I am fine and WILL be fine, promise! Ha  I haven’t heard of any missing people, remember I am a missionary so you probably knbow more about this storm then I do, ha. And I sleep in my appt in pila, luguna. Its on the 2nd floor so even if my are got flooded I would still have a place to stay. It rains quite a bit but the hard rain was the first week. On Friday it was real hot an humid and sunny. Its real sticky and constantly sweaty. My shirts get pretty soaked durng the day. But I don’t thinks its super hot, I don’t mind it! I would say it feels hotter in mesa in august when it’s a 115 and your wearing football gear, ha. Cody knows what I mean, hah! Ok so next questions…. I don’t think I have lost any weight. I doubt I will lose a whole lot. I think I am at a steady weight right now. I didn’t even change weight in th mtc. So I am probably like a buck83 still. I don’t eat as much as I would like but when I do make my own food its like pbj or toppraman type stuff. Or rice or eggs or oatmeal, or whatever I can find, ha. I make it easy tho, ya know, cuz I am lazy! Ha. But we eat at members or even investigators sometimes or at the church with all the refugees. The food is pretty delicious here. I like it. I will eat whatever they give me. Its all good when your hungry.. and I am constatly hungry, haha. Is it pretty here? Haha heck yeah! Its like Hawaii on some steroids! And it’s a bit more ghetto, ha but it rocks here. You all are missin out! It is laoded with palm trees everywhere. We wen to some waterfalls earlier today and it blows the ones we saw in Hawaii out of the water! I haven’t seen any crime, the people are way cool and nice. The are super nice to me and always want to talk. The little kids never leave me alone. Some people call Americans joe so I get “hey joe” a lot. And everyone always asks, “ano ang Height mo?” (whats your height?) people are awesome here. Thers a lot of baklas (faggs) tho, ha. That sorta kreeps me out! Ok about my schedule. First of all when I am awake most of the time you will b asleep. So right now it is 5pm here and so its 1 am there. So on my watch I have dual time so I always nknow what time it is for you guys, so I check that some times and think what you guys would be doing. So a normal day for me. Wake up at 615, go take my freezing cold, refreshing bucket shower, then make some oatmeal or something for breakfast. I start personal study at like 730 and study gospel stuff till like 830. Right now I have just started Jesus the Christ. Its dope… read it. Then I try to do a little language study. At 9 its comp study. We usually figure out what we are going to do in the day. We don’t really study much as a companionship, which isn’t good. Then at 10 I do some language study. I have so much to learn in the language that its hard to figure out what to study. Then we eat some lunch and leave at 1130. We go to apptment in the day and tracked when we have openings. We stay out the rest of the day and we will eat dinner at someones house or when we get home at night. We usually get home at like 830 to 930. When we get home I will eat and crash out! Usually before 10. I am BEAT by the end of the days. I always say I am gonna study when I get home but most of the time I am too tired. Ha. Ma the only address I have is the mission home one which I gave you the first week. Chantell I just barely got your dear elder today, haha. Thanks. Cody thanks for the emails. Keep sending them everyweek. Even tho I might not have time to email you back… that goes to all yalll! Dad thanks for the updates! Sorry I cant write you back. I have already gone over my 1hr limit to please mom. Haha but its alright, shes worth it  brayden yuou should play football and bball this winter. You are bomb. Rylie and haley, how is school and dance? Email me this week kids. I have fasted several times for that same purpose so I hope my fasting will work. I fasted last week for that. I will again this week. Just have faith and trust in the lord and be obedient and pay your tithing. It will work out! I had more to say about this past week and my investigators but that will have to wait till next time. I have past my time for the day. Love youy all a laod thanks for the supportand the prayers. FINALLY in the Philippines at Last!!

Hows it kickin? the pilipinas is dope! The travel to get here took a total of like 30 hrs untill i was at the mission home. crazy long, but it was good. We stayed at the mission home for like 2 nights for like orientation thing, and its a way nice pad. pres and sis Anderson are way awesome and they totally spoiled us while we were there. it was like we were on vacation in paradise for 2 day, haha. but then on friday we got our new comps and sent to our areas. so my comp is elder etcity. he is american indian from page az and he has been in the feild for like 9 months. he is ok. not what iu would have hoped for tho. so far we havent done the kind of work i want to do. he seems pretty lazy and not the kind of missionary i want to be, so it really kinda sucks. He doesnt know how to be a trainer and doesnt really help or teach me anything. i really think i a,m gonna sorta have to step it up and get him to be a better missionary so we can work harder. oh well tho i will have to figure out how to be a missionary in the feild on my own. mY firsty area is a town called pila, laguna. its real close to the bigger city santa cruz. I got to meet the members the first night in my area. they are way nice but there are only like 50 active. so its only a branch tho. I got lots of work to do in this area! it would be easier and i would get much more done if i was fluet, haha. but i will get much better quick... i hope, ha. The hardest thing so far with nthe language is that they talk super fast and mumble and are real quite. haha. half the time i cant undertstand them cuz i cant hear them, ha. i will get used to it.

So yesterday at simbahan i had to give a talk! i didnt even know i was going to give one untill they anounced my name in church, ha. But i was prepared with one of my talks from the mtc and earlier that morning i had prepared a little something just in case. so it went pretty well and it was easy. my first full day in my area(friday) there was a huge bagyo(typhoon) it was raining so hard. we couldnt even go work cuz the aps came by and told us to stay in, Boring! and it has rained every day i have been here so far. its awesome! but ity was one of the worst storms they have had in a long time. so taday we were doing service in Santa cruz walking throught 4 ft deep gross water with dead dogs floating round throught the streets. a compainioship in my zone house got flooded so we had to help them move stuff out. but i heard that iti the worst its been flooded since like 1972, crazy stuff! figures that would happen on my very first weekend in the pilipines! so, so far in the feild i havnt done a whole lot of real missionary work. i dont know why i got stuck with a crummy missionary for my trainer. its gonna been fine. i am gonna make sure we get our butts in gear. but the pil.ipines is sobre maganda. its so gren and tropical. the enviroment reminds me so much of hawaii. its sorta like hawaii but in poverty, ha. its reall humid and pretty hot but honestly it aint that bad, i am used to the heat.

I love my family tons. it was awesome talking toi you last week, but i wish i could have talked longer. to bad, but only three months till chritmas. oh here in the pilipinas they start christmas celebration on sept 1. so they already sing christmas songs in church. ha funny huh? ok well i am running out of garbagge to bore you with so i am gonna run. i have to pinakada best fam ily in the world. love ya!
